I’m a long time user of Google branded phones to include the entire Nexus lineup. I feel like Google is getting back to the premium device at a consumer friendly price. This is the closest we’ve been to a nexus device in a long time. I preordered this device for $150 via pixel 3a trade in. What a deal! They even included a free pair of pixel buds.

Thank you for the review. I'm coming form a Pixel 3 and so far the 6a sounds like what I want from the other phones in this range. Storage is not an issue, I never even used all the 64 on the 3 and the whole phone will be wrapped in a case and screen protector. What sound great is the size. Headphone jack is not a problem, I have a dongle for several attachments.

Been a Samsung Galaxy flagship user for years. This is my first Pixel phone. Bought on Friday. The build quality is superb. The fingerprint sensor works much better than my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Responds well for me at 60hz. It's even improving the look of my old photos. And no bloat ware. Fantastic value in the UK just reduced £299.00 around US Dollars 350.00. It does get warm like all phones and just once i had an 'over heating' warning flash up on screen while using it for multiple video recordings. But it was a hot day. Battery drain for the first few days was noticeable, but since seeing a video on here about clearing memory cache there's been no further problem. I've wanted to have a Pixel for years and the price of this has just dropped, presumably due to the arrival of the Pixel 7, so I jumped in. At $450 it's a great buy! Super phone with just 3 weak points, which... are on ALL 3 Pixel 6s. Here in India, add the price. Flipkart, the sole retailer, is selling the 6a for $555 which is the price of the 6 so why buy the 6a? So... one, the display. The display is the weakest point on all 3 models in the 6 series. It's not bright enough and even at 120Hz it isn't smooth till pages are cached. The display cannot compare with $400 phones here. Two, the charging time, which is 23W peak on the 6 Pro. You haven't mentioned how long the 6a takes to charge? In fact no one has? But even if it tests out at 18W, it would take what, almost 2 hours? Three, the software glitches. I moved from a 3 year old OnePlus 7T and my 6 Pro, (maybe all 3) is full of bugs after many updates! So in the US, it's a great buy with that Camera and Tensor! Here, the price is way off which is truly a shame as the Pixel is not yet known here. Here, other phones score on brand awareness, price and display and their cameras today are not bad at all as they're innovating. The Pixel camera hasn't changed much since the 3XL! Complacency... India is a potentially huge market. Bottom line, my only Q, how long does the 6a take to charge?

Lack of headphone jack is a problem why they had to follow that trend I don’t know?! Yes you can buy an adapter but you shouldn’t have to these things should be a part of the package. 1. you cannot charge your phone and listen to music at the same time 2. wireless means headphones you have another thing to charge using more electricity than necessary also can’t use them while they’re charging 3. If they die when you’re out and about you’re fucked 4. drains your battery a little using the Bluetooth

But it seems I have either the 6a or the Onplus Nord CE 2 5G to choose between and the wonky proprietary charging of the Oneplus is just dumb. If the 6a just had a card slot and a headphone jack I would have bought it without a second thought. The card slot is the more important of the two features. I believe you wil only see the difference of 60 Hz if you stare at the display and look for the difference. The thing is, apple just tweaks the animations so that they feel smooth. Apple devices never had this ultra-fast or instant feeling to it. They are responsive but not instant in their response. It's by design. And its okay. Apple devices feel relaxing. I stopped buying "flagship" phones 3 swaps back. Do I really want to drop or lose a freaking $1000 gizmo? Does a flagship that's 15% better than my LG or A71 or now Pixel 6a "make my life better". LOL.

Why didn't Google use a battery at least as good as the one in the 5a ? Have the 6a getting delivered today on my birthday the LORD has been gracious to give me another. Thank you Jesus !

It's the Worst phone I have ever had. Sound on Bluetooth is ridiculously low. The camera is awful, reception and call quality are terrible and takes forever to turn on. There are many other issues I've had in the past month and very little that I like about it. I know this will be my last google product.

Google could've added a 90hz display to this device. I think the 90hz on the regular p6 is fine coming from a person who owns the P6 and the 13pro. Google could've saved themselves the backlash from offering a 60hz display. Apple does the same on 800 dollar phones and no one bats an eye....
@kab1r

Apple gets away with it because their 60hz displays are locked and consistently smooth

You’re not getting overheating because you’re probably using it on Wi-Fi mostly. Try using it in 5g radio for a day (which probably won’t happen because battery will die beforehand) and watch that thing melt Greenland
