It looks excellent, you're right about the need for proper lights and audio, but aside from no blurring of the background, most people probably couldn't tell (or care) it's on a GoPro. An added bonus is you don't have to faff about with focus, face tracking and so on! I would recommend fellow GoPro users here in the UK to use 25p video (and 1/50th shutter) which you can access by setting your anti-flicker region to PAL (page 95 of the GoPro 9 manual) otherwise on the default settings you are likely to get flickering from artificial lights.

@Gemini_Connect
3 жыл бұрын
Hmm...GoPro would be great for nature, but it's not optimal for traditional product photography. Typically you need a zoom lens (50mm or more) to nail focus on the product and eliminate distortion. The GoPro has wide angle lenses (even if you go to narrow with the digital zoom) that often has slight distortion and cannot focus well on up close items. Frankly, a modern smartphone camera would be better at product photography than the GoPro.

Although a big improvement over the background only lamp in a room set up in the before shot your lighting still is a bit off. You have the light positioned camera left and to LOW to camera lens axis which is causing a bit of what is known as “Monster lighting” which is not to flattering. The shadows make you look a bit like a old Vaudeville act on old time stage. Raise the light a bit the move the light closer to lens axis or above the lens camera you will see a even bigger adjustment. Also a softer larger source of lighting like a umbrella or softbox will make the light softer with a more wrap around the subject type of lighting. As in this video you are only improving the shot half way you can do better.
@Gemini_Connect
3 жыл бұрын
The lighting definitely isn't perfect. I need a larger softbox or umbrella, but unfortunately don't have the space for it, and the current video light isn't powerful enough to take full advantage of it.

It look just great with the lights, the diffuser, and an external mic but, let's say i want more depth ( a desk between the GoPro and you ) is it possible with the Gopro and the same setting or it is easier to use a camera with a wide lens ? Thanks

Great question! The bigger your shooting set, the more light you'll need. That's generally true for a larger camera too, although at least you can control your aperture to brighten the scene.

The battery isn't nt the best, but it's better than it has been on previous GoPros. It can help to carry an external battery and charge the camera between usage.
