As far as the night mode with current hardware, everything you mentioned can be done with the gopro labs firmware. Sure it can be improved with keeping a stationary camera and the settings but it's an action camera so it will actually need a larger sensor in order to be of benefit to most gooro style users. They should,(maybe this is what the 2026 cameras your speaking of) come out sith a camera that for goes the current backwards compatible and just create a totally new camera, these incremental improvements only are whats killing them

@DemonViewLLC

I don't work for GoPro, I have no idea if the camera is going to have a bigger screen. I'm not sure why it would though, screens generate heat and consume power. The bigger the screen, the more heat it will generate and more power it will consume. It's also the weakest part of the camera and susceptible to breakage. If anything, GoPro should be trying to get rid of their screens completely.

Bring back the gps, hdmi port, and fix overheating issues. In other words, fix the shortcomings of the camera, don’t just add new ones

I agree with the GPS, it was a major advantage over the competition. The HDMI port would just mean more processing the camera had to do, plus I very rarely use the HDMI out, so having it removed doesn't bother me. I don't have overheating issues with the 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, Max or Fusion, then again, as I covered many times, it's because I know how to set my cameras up properly for the filming I'm doing.

@@DemonViewLLC I’ve had overheating issues with the 12 and 10 when using hyperlapse on my dash (I’m a truck driver) within 10-15 minutes when set at 4k. If I set it at 1080, I’ll get maybe 30 minutes. The only way I’ve been able to get more time is to remove the battery and use a usb cable to power it along with a fan mounted blowing on it. As for “knowing how to setup my cameras properly”, I should be able to do a hyperlapse at 1080 inside an air conditioned vehicle with a fan blowing on it without it overheating in 30 minutes. If I want to do normal speed at 30fps, I’m luck to get 10 minutes. At least it isn’t as bad as the ship osmo action 2…. That thing overheats in 10 minutes at 1080 30 fps no matter what I do. My insta 360 go 3 mounted in the same place, doing 2.7k at 30 fps will run until the battery dies and non stop plugged in and never overheat. Too many of these camera companies keep pushing the resolution higher and higher without taking into account heat dissipation at these high resolutions.

I don't think so, even if they miss the mark with the 13, I think GoPro's gamble is with the Forecite helmet systems. They can go down that avenue, even if they close up shop on the action camera division. The Max 2 is what they spent the last 2 years developing and they pulled it after the X4 release.... wondering if they are trying to get the most out of the hardware and desperately writing new firmware for the camera to compensate.

@@DemonViewLLC From my view, they need a win this year especially when I look at their stock price and evaluation currently. I'd love to see them take a crack at consumer cameras with even one model, exclusively branding it as not an action camera but a content camera. 1 inch sensor and in the market that the Osmo Pocket 3 is currently doing pretty well in. I think there's a bigger and more stable market in consumer / content creator space. Or at the very least big enough to warrant a single product for. Long.short of it I hope they don't go out of business or anything, but I'll be damned if they don't realize that the market is leaving them behind.

@@SpeedyBlaxxthis is my exact thought too, I'm not a GoPro fan boy, just that for now they have a better picture overall if you install GoPro labs firmware, but the way insta and DJI are coming up on them and surpassing them in certain areas... It's now or never for me, cause I think one of the competitors will match/overtake them in pure picture quality with their next release, then I myself will go to that vendor and if in two years if GoPro doesn't go bankrupt and does come out with a way different camera instead of just incremental improvements then I'll go back to them. Right now I'm on the 11 and saw no need for the 12 and if the picture quality is the same I see no need to "upgrade" to the 13, if my 11 takes a dump I'll just go with a refurbished GoPro or if one of the others have something out that is of at least the same picture quality I'll go there.

@@ugpfpv361 Yeah you bring up another good point worth highlighting again. "People are satisfied with the product they bought". Especially if "action sports" is your lane. GoPro NEEDS to dive into the general content creator space and expand the amount of people who are even excited or in the know about their products. The DJI Pocket 3 is such a game changer man, and GoPro should have been there first IMO.
@SpeedyBlaxx

@@ugpfpv361 Huge point you brought up also... The camera you already bought from them is doing its job perfectly and you don't have a need to upgrade. I think a lot of their customer base are on this kind of a cycle, say a 3 to 4 year upgrade cycle instead of a yearly cycle. ESPECIALLY that now every gopro model is giving you 4k. I really hope GoPro attacks the general consumer / content creator space with a 1 inch sensor for better image quality. Hypersmooth invalidates my need for a gimbal, especially if the sensor is a 1 inch sensor and can capture at a better resolution. But alas... The Osmo Pocket 3 is a hands down favorite, in a product space that GoPro had all but owned for a decade.
