Malfunctioning memory cards for any GoPro camera are frustrating. The No SD card error can always happens at the worst time. This quick tip shows hot to fix the No SD error and get back to filming. If you're out having some epic times there are greater chances that you'll have access to another camera than having a computer handy, (let's say, in the middle of a race event or on a SCUBA boat). So, this quick fix I use may come in handy for your Hero 4, Hero 3+, Hero 3, Hero 2 or possibly any other camera.
In the past I have used my MacBook Pro laptop to re-format the GoPro memory cards in the rare occasion they have become corrupted. However, there have been isolated times that the computer will not recognize the corrupted memory card and the GoPro camera will display "No SD" on the screen.
I found out that if I use another camera there is a chance that the memory card will be recognized and re-formatted. I used a DSLR the first time I couldn't reformat using the GoPro or the MacBook. Since then I have used a wide range of cameras and actually find that quicker and more conveinent than even turning the laptop computer on.
If you discovered any other ways to re-format your memory card when you're GoPro or computer won't recognize it - then share it with us in the comments below!
