I'll never forget what my Father and Grandandfather fought for with the Gordons. But what did they die for? Today's UK? I don´t think so. God be with all those who gave their lives so many years ago. Love to all of you who Remember.By Dand.

As a Royal Corps of Transport soldier in the '70's, I was briefly attached to the Gordon Highlanders as a staff car driver at their Chester depot. I can testify that they were Scottish through and through - they tried getting 'em to march with the brass band of the Coldstream Guards, what a shambles that was! As soon as their own Pipes and Drums came on parade, the chests went out, the kilts began to swing and they marched as fine as any Guardsmen! Very sad to see our fine regiment amalgamated - soon, there will be no British Army left! Would the last surviving squaddie please fall out properly!

A truly great and renowned regiment. I confess though that I didn't quite understand the inclusion of the Cameron's and Argylls footage. Enjoyed the video very much, all the same.

This amazing because even though I didn’t have ancestors who served with the Gordon Highlanders I will still remember their sacrifices since I am part Scottish because my paternal grandfathers paternal grandmothers maiden name is Murray and I will also remember the sacrifices of the black watch because I play the base drum in a pipe and drum band that is named after the famous famous black watch which is a British Canadian and Scottish infantry regiment and its currently the 3rd battalion of the royal regiment of Scotland 🏴.
