That was my first motorcycle! I got it knew when 12, drove it until I was 15. Then my little brother that was six years younger, drove it after I turned 15, he was nine! and drove it to 15 also! I wish I still had it! NOW i own Harley's!

Im 32 years old. I had two of those xl70s at age 9 my dad got a set of red twins. I had a brand new Suzuki rm 80 I raced on Sundays with and used the 70 to put around the trails. I remember my cousin's was all four wheeler dorks and I raced them on the 70 and broke my first bone on a xl70 lol. Loved them bikes man miss them.

A mi me pasa igual. Tengo una ossa enduro 250cc(sdr) de 1973, y una bultaco lobito 175cc de 1974. Las amo

This was what I learned to ride on...been hooked ever since! My cousin (RIP) had one and taught me how to ride on his. Same color too! This was probably in '80 or '81. I remember the tick marks on the speedo to keep you from over revving the motor. Never understood why all bikes without tachs don't have those tick marks.

I was recently going to purchase one of those about 3 years ago in Pennsylvania but I'm glad I checked local laws before buying it. Even though it had turn signals licence bracket and lights I was told nothing under 90cc is not legal for driving on the road way. They even made an xl50 and was told a person tried to register it on the road in NJ and was told absolutely no way! I guess an XL 100 is what id have to go with. I had an orange 70 back in 1974' but used it for a trail bike

I had an xl100s farm pack, carry racks and even a tow bar for feeding out hay from a trailer.. The best part was the 64 tooth rear sprocket . That thing could rrrriiipp your house clean off its foundations .. 6000rpm was 25mph in top gear .. This was in 1987 or so

Are you sure it only goes 35 mph ? With the 4 speed ,I think it should go alittle more than 35 mph
