I made this serum and really liked it, but after a week and half it became cloudy and a bit more yellow. I am assuming this is not good. What should I have done different?

grapeseed oil... p.s. i love grapeseed oil, it's high in linoleic acid that help restore skin barrier function and this one is dry oil so it absorb and dry. but it goes rancid quite quickly so i only buy 4oz because i dont want it go rancid before i get to fnish it

You can find pomegranate seed oil at Mountain Rose Herbs, which is an online vendor of organic and wild-crafted herbs and natural oils. It's one of my favorite online stores for these types of ingredients, though the shipping time is a little on the long side if you live in the Midwest or on the East Coast.

Hello Sophie, would the serum recipe be just as effective if i replace the wheat germ oil with a argan nut oil and then use all the other ingredients as recommended? i heard some negative things about wheat germ and since argan nut oil is high in vitamin E thought it might be a good substitute. your thoughts?

Quite right (sorry, Sophie!). Rapeseed oil is canola oil, and most of that is genetically-modified nowadays (and of course, heavily sprayed with pesticides). Grapeseed oil is only known as grapeseed oil. I wouldn't recommend the use of rapeseed/canola oil for eating or using in personal-care products.

Idk where u get your info from but as far as I know, Rape seed oil is only from Canola not grapes. I should know. I'm an Albertan! As far as affordably, almost anything u get at a health food store here, is still pretty expensive. Of course, making it yourself and having a fresh batch is still better than at a beauty counter.

Lisa C LUV4GLITTR Rape seed(Canola) is totally different from Grapeseed oil. Her oil was definitely labeled Grapeseed, but she mispronounces it as Rape seed.

Is anyone else having an issue with the smell of the carrot seed oil? Is it the worst most horrible smell. I made this serum and first it is extremely greasy and does not absorb very well, just sits under your eyes and the smell of the carrot seed oil is horrendous. If you put this on and then go to bed it will be all over your pillow in the morning. I am going to make this again but replace the carrot seed with pumpkin seed oil which is full of antioxidants, fights free radicals and has a neutral smell.

Tutivillis While its not the correct word to use to describe this blend of oils its not in any way seriously harmful. The cosmetics and beauty industry tends to misuse this and many other words.
