Picked up the latest release of Mcfarlane figures, Gorilla Grodd. This figure is highly detailed, unlike its articulation. This figure lends it self for some custom work. I research several references of artwork and found that in some stories he wears a red cape and loin cloth. So I went with that concept.
Started by removing the front unless plate. The removing the Planet of The Apes helmet.
Added a black wash to the entire figure and put back in the highlights with gold paint.
Just not happy with the gold skulls so I painted them with beige and they look and stand out better.
Resculpted the head and detailed the face and feet.
Finally added the cape and loin cloth. Both items have a wire and both are glued with E6000.
A final coat of Tamiya high gloss is added to the face and armor.
Weapons are accessories left behind from figures I sold off in the past.
It's a totally different figure, I like this version so much better..
