I have a funny story about him. I lived in So Cal and remember watching him on TBN and he mentioned his number was listed. I decided to call as I wanted to attend his church in Pacoima. I ended up speaking to his sister Sandra. My friend and I went to his church and after service I introduced myself. He asked how I got his phone number and I told him, you said you were listed on TBN. He and his sister started laughing. I then got to share with Sandra how the song she sang, "Take Me Back" was my favorite song, she honestly was really happy and humbled to hear this. Also the church is mainly Black and I'm white. The people were BEYOND loving and kind. I was completely comfortable there and loved it. So glad I got to meet Andrea and Sandra.

I was at a Jesus Festival in 1978 or 1979 in Orlando, FL and Andre and Sandra were there performing. We had a friend whose birthday was on that day. We went to the back of the stage and asked if Andre could come sing Happy Birthday to her as a surprise. He did!!! and when we brought Mardy out and Andre started singing, Mardy screamed and almost fainted. . . Andre, ever cool, finished singing to her. He was so wonderful. I'll never forget him and I too can't wait to see him in Heaven.

I come from a white singing family. We started singing in 1961. We moved from Texas to California in 1963. Around 64-65, we started singing for a lady named Audrey Meyer who discovered Andrae. My family sang for Andrae's dad at his church. I remember him being in our house in Long Beach in the 60s. My dad and I went to see him in Abilene, Texas in 1972. I distinctly remember sitting in a motel in Las Vegas, after our concert that night, and turning on the Johnny Carson show and watching him that night. Always wished I could've sat down and talked about song writing with him. Last saw Audrey Meyer at a Gaither video taping in Alexandria, Indiana in the late 90s. Reality never turns out the way you wanted, but memories last forever.

I always liked Andraes music. But it’s still enigmatic his interactions with all those world ungodly artists. And every time the media talks about him the first thing that comes is ... “he played with Madonna, he worked with Spielberg, bla bla bla...”. It’s a contradiction I still don’t have an explanation. Light never interact with darkness. But again, he always said the right words from Bible perspectives.... but God judge us not by what we say but by our behavior. So that’s that. I don’t have a clue. God’s knows.

Absolutely untrue. Light surely does interact with darkness, we’re called to go out into the world, not just stay inside our Christian “bubbles”.

@@Grinnddd I get your point but... holiness must have some meaning. And... James have something to say about that on the New Testament.
