@@samirahrAs someone who used to be a Chuck/Blair shipper, I shipped it because I was an insecure and inexperienced teenage girl who liked their chemistry (ie: the volatility) and just didn’t know enough about relationships or abuse to understand how dangerous the relationship was. I was an avid defender of their relationship online and used to say all sorts of victim-blaming, abuse-apologist shit justifying it. When I see people who say or do that kind of thing online now, I worry for them. They’re most likely girls or young women who are internalizing abuse and rape culture. And it does have an impact on your real life relationships when you think like that - usually in a way that makes you more likely to be a victim.

Katy May the difference between a abusive relationship and them is that in an abusive relationship there’s no real love , from either both or one counterpart , but clearly between these 2 there is . More of a toxic one rather than abusive . People ship them cuz they see the hardships they went through . Chuck has went through years of verbal abuse because of his father and he never gave up with his mother he never cared about the difference between right and wrong because he grew up in a society where he could do everything wrong because he had the power and money in this scene we clearly see that Chuck is being extremely violent and there is no excuse to his actions however we also know that Blair has been the same way she constantly puts Chuck down keep him waiting with the Prince Louis relationship , she kept him on edge for so long and she has hurt him a lot too . Chuck gave away his business (almost ) at the end for her to be free wether or not she loved him . He wanted to do it for her happiness . whereas a Harley Quinn and joker relationship was abuse at its finest not anything compared to this . In any way

The simple fact that Dan and Blair had so much less screen time (like 1/4) than chuck and blair together and still so many people root for them speaks for itself. I think the majority of people that never liked Dan and Blair were just too conditioned to see Chuck and Blair together and didn't realise how great of a story Dan and Blair had up until they made Dan the bad guy. Its Okay to prefer one storyline but you gotta admit the finale of season 5 and all of season 6 wasn't consistent at all with the rest of the show. You can't make one of the moral pillar of the show suddenly the bad guy so you can lessen the importance of the relationship of Dan and Blair.

He sold her for an hotel, he abused her both physically and emotionally, he publicly humiliated her when he send out the message to Gossip Girl about her sleeping with 2 guys in one week. What she did was true and wrong but that doesnt mean she have the right to humliated her like that. Chuck tried to Rape Jenny in the first epi so he's a rapiest. What Blair did to the french girl Eva was very wrong I admit it made her look like a complete bitch but Chuck did so many things that isn't wroth any forgiveness.
@TheWillowtear
8 жыл бұрын
+northerndawn Wow, do you hate him so much? I admit the worst thing Chuck did is selling her for the hotel, but I pretend that never happened, because there are so many thing that didn't make sense in the show. Just like you guys are saying Blair shouldn't have ended up with Chuck but it happened. I'm saying that because Chuck's character was built up so well it would make sense he would do such a horrible thing. But the writers are so fucked up they like this kind of drama. Chuck and Blair were the only couple that couldn't be friends after every time they broke up compared to others. It's their love. Chuck was never meant to be a good guy at first but many things changed after 2nd episode. Writers like Ed so much they made his character become one of the leads. So I ignore the first episode too. You know in the books Serena, Blair and Nate are the leads. If Blair forgave him so many times then call her stupid, instead of calling Chuck the worst. Chuck would move on and both would have been happy if she didn't ruin Eva, if she didn't play with his emotions so many times. Chuck was selfish when he sent the message to GG saying she slept with two guys in one week because he was in love with her. What's wrong with that? I actually think he did the right thing, because Blair was acting like a slut at that time. I was actually satisfied when he did that. You'd say if he loved her he wouldn't have done that? Don't you remember at least one good thing Chuck did? Please, re-watch the series to see how many nice things Chuck has done to her. I'm not even gonna explain about him wanting Blair's child that was Louis'. Dan? Dan on the other hand would never raise someone else's child. He proved that when he found out about Georgina's child. Dan never loved any girl so much as Chuck did Blair. Dan "loved" every girl and Chuck LOVED only Blair. What's the reason you watched the show until Dair happened? Did you actually enjoy everything else? Dan who cared for no one, even for Serena, knowing he was GG. He didn't really deserve her. Serena should have been better off with Nate. I admit Dair was cute, but it was obvious Blair would have ended up with the one she actually loved. I find it funny, how Dair fans even thought Dair would be endgame. Seriously? If Dair happened from the beginning Blair would have been grown bored of him soon. And even if Chuck did so many wrong things he DID change. And no one is innocent on this show. Chair has a large fandom and your complaints won't make them like their ship any less.

This guy is simply revolting. I’ll never understand anyone who ships these two together. Guys, this right here is ABUSE. JUST. FREAKING. ABUSE. Don’t say “he was drunk” as an excuse because we all know that’s not gonna work. “Never marry anyone else you’re mine” what is she? An object?? Clearly in Chuck’s head she is. The writers really ruined Chuck with this shit and they shouldn’t have done it . He had been toxic all throughout their relationship with micro actions, but domestic violence is not a joke to just show on one episode and then do as if nothing happened, making them seem as a happy ever lasting couple. They didn’t handle the topic as they should have because of the fact that they didn’t consider this as violence , which is clearly what it is. Writers said it showed how much Chuck loved Blair and that’s why he punched the glass, but it’s not only the punch it’s also the body language and the toxic phrases he says. Even Leighton Meester said that youngsters shouldn’t be looking up to Chuck and Blair as the most romantic couple

Plus there is an awful lot of victim blaming here including from Chuck himself, 'she went up there on her own' is victim blaming 101. That Blair is in love with Chuck doesn't say anything about their relationship, often the victim in an abusive relationship thinks she/he can change the other and thinks it's her/his fault for the mistake of the abuser. This is not healthy and not an epic love story! And abuse isn't just psychical, it can be verbal as well. Please inform yourself about abuse!

This is chuck on the roof in season 2 but violent aggressive and terrifying and you can’t forget BART BASS. I will never ship this chuck and Blair scene. And will never defend chuck. But this scene shows how damaging things become when a parent. Father and son, raises a son WRONG. I’m super glad chuck realised that he had done something terrible and apologised sincerely and didn’t expect anything after his apology. That was a grown man thing to do. Tbh... i feel like they put this in purely for drama. It was completely out of character for Chuck, now hear me out, if you consider how much of a believer he is in using words as a weapon rather than using physical violence. This is domestic abuse. And since i feel it shouldn't have been added also purely because it's random af along with blairs engagment to Louis. Im going to choose to ignore this. However, that being said, i do not agree that this relationship is healthy anymore as this is out of order the way he treated her here. Anyone experiencing this is real life should get help.

i cannot believe i shipped this for so long. i am just realizing how toxic and abusive this relationship is. kinda like delena. this is disgusting. "you're mine blair!" he is treating her like property. and then he grabs her and basically throws her down on the chair. and then he punches the window & i think he almost hit her in the face but if you watch closely, she ducked. this is so disgusting and now im so upset they ended up together. im in tears like im not even kidding because young girls think this is okay. this IS domestic abuse. and this isn't the only time that chuck and blair's relationship has been toxic. it always has been. he slept with jenny because he thought she didn't love him anymore. he played with her feelings in the earlier seasons and treated her like shit and thought it was a game. im so disgusted right now and embarassed for once shipping this.

It could have been worse. He only punched the window because he was frustrated, he would never intentionally hurt Blair. And this so called "abuse" isn't just one sided you know, Blair has done horrible things to him too, but they always forgive each other. That's what makes them so good together.

you think this is toxic? It's nowhere near as bad as dan and blair. He cheated on her, had the nerve to act like he did nothing wrong so he could try and win her back and then when she found out insulted her for chosing who to be with, saying that was his reasoning for mentally abusing her! He repeatedly lies to her and that is so much worse than chuck could have ever done to her. At least chuck never cheated on her. Nothing you can say will change the fact that they were good together.

chuck sold her for a hotel. that is far worse than what dan did and dan only cheated on blair when he thought blair had chosen chuck over him. chuck sold blair for a hotel when they were still and knew they were still together. chuck is worse, he toiled with her for years and humiliated her so many times. had physically and emotionally hurt blair. dan at least did not physically hurt her many you fan girls are stupid, you will defend domestic abusive

@geminibaby28 The writers maybe didn't realize this is abuse and it's so much more wrong they didn't recognize it because it is abuse. They show Chuck's desperation, because he wanted to punch Blair. He was aiming at her, that he was so drunk he missed is perhaps even more disturbing because clearly now people don't see the abuse. BTW at the time of the scene, their relationship was already at the end. She was already with Louise in a relationship.

I think people don't understand chuck personality journey. Chuck started with bad boy personality and slowly change to positive matured man. Ofcz there's still dark of him come out in the process of the changes. Chuck think no one care about him until he found blair is the only one understand him. He feels alone like he was in Dan's novel but he never complain. Atleast chuck's personality 180 degree change though the show finale. I most impressive with Chuck bass character in the show!
