Hello Daria! Yes, I always enjoy maps in books and also character lists and associations (ie family tree). I think they help to immerse the reader in the story, a lot more and give perspective. As always, I appreciate your comments. Take care, happy reading and safe travels ABT

I own every Katrina Nannestad book! - Love "The travelling bookshop" series, it is so sweet! - Oddly! I am currently reading "Dear reader" - what a coincidence!

Hello Again Kelly. Thank you for your positive comments. They are lovely to read and it is wonderful to interact with viewers/subscribers. I adore Katrina Nannestad as a writer. I do not have all of her books, that is not to say that I will not be rushing out and buying more🙂🙃. She has such a depth to her writing for children, making some 'difficult' subjects much more available to and for children. As adults we can find a lot of truth and sincerity in her books too. Definitely a wonderful writer. 'Dear Reader' was gifted to me by a penpal/friend of mine who lives overseas. I was well chuffed to have been given it and will be reading it shortly. Looking forward to it! OK, really must dash now....editing awaits. Take care until our next 'connection' through video. Cheryl ABT

@@AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy I completely agree with you! In the traveling bookshop from book one she covers a fair few topics that can be quite difficult for children to face, they're really great. You do rush through them though, my only complaint is I wish they were longer. You probably have, but have you read the Stella Montgomery books by Judith Rossell? or the Kingdoms and Empires series by Jaclyn Moriarty? Both Australian writers I believe from memory. I adore both those series too, they come in GORGEOUS hardback editions, which of COURSE I own all of 😂 - I read a lot of children's books, I say it's because I have a 7 year old as my excuse, but I don't really need an excuse to be honest. ha ha My mum bought me all of them when I was stuck in hospital, and most of the Katrina Nannestad ones, it's her fault really what can I say 😂

Dear What Is Your Name? Just to thank you so much for your DELIGHTFUL videos, professional elocution, enthusiasm, merciful lack of ego, and varied content. As (West Australian) bibliophiles, we're always on the hunt for rewarding channels and yours makes the grade. (98% don't!) We are also members of five public libraries and, at Mandurah City branch, there is Brock, Gareth PETS ON HOLIDAY: the best pet-friendly accommodation, cafes and activities all over Australia (2017 / 435 pages) (Not that the subject is of great moment, here, because we have no pets, nor plans to travel, but the title seems appropriate to your passion). In any event, may we wish you ALL THE BEST with showcase of our unique country and, perhaps, you could interview random strangers for their opinions on the places you film and / or preferences in reading matter. Might gain a few spectacular recommendations!! (We could legitimately list several hundred, but will spare you the tedium). So, stay safe -- a few lunatics spoil the road -- and we happily anticipate your next broadcast. Cheers for now, Brian and Rowena

Hello Brian and Rowena, Welcome to the channel and thank you so much for watching and subscribing. It is all greatly appreciated. Your words are far too kind. I merely hope to provide an informative and entertaining channel about Australia, books and all other beautiful things in life, to as many people as I can, possibly providing a safe and positive online community for all of those/us, who seek it. But, thank you so much for your positivity and kindness. I have uploaded an extra, 'sneaky' working week video to the channel which should be available for viewing at around 5pm (Victorian time) or 5.30pm, whichever You-tube decides. I hope the content of that video will answer your questions. Happy reading, safe travels and please, do keep in touch...Oh and if you enjoy the channel, please do keep watching!!☺ ABT Cheryl.

Dear Cheryl, The reason we thank you for your presentations is THE RELIEF you provide -- e.g. by not referring to the general public as, 'You Guys' as though all women are men and, in fact, a blob of humans the speaker can't be bothered to individuate. Sheer intellectual sloth, which spans all age ranges and is pretty much an instant, and literal,' turn off the channel' for us. So, thank you for not addressing me, R, as a man!! But it is also the general tenor of your personality. AND the lack of music when you speak! Some of us have hearing difficulties, or cannot absorb too much stimuli at once -- movies and documentaries frequently FLOOD the audience's brain with so much noise they rapidly shut down and can't absorb the main message, anyway. Not that we have that problem -- whoever invented the mute button should be given a gold medal -- but producers and post-production folk are deluded enough to believe we all need to be SWAMPED with conflicting racket to out-do the competition, for our attention, with other programmes. So, we are happy to listen to your voice -- despite a bit of traffic, or other background interference, one experiences in everyday life, anyway. And, although your choice of literature in no way coincides with ours -- (well, what we have seen, so far) -- Brian mostly prefers murder mysteries, and some non-fiction, whilst I only read quite heavy non-fiction, with a touch of murder mystery, just to 'solve the puzzle' -- who cares? It's always interesting to discover other people's taste in every pursuit. Perhaps later this evening -- it's currently 7.43pm -- Brian and I will watch your 'sneaky' video and possibly provide feedback. Obviously, haven't seen the content, so will excitedly wait until we can. Until then, trust you had a wonderful evening and we hope to keep in touch with you, dear lady. LOTS of viewers -- national and international -- will, we are positive, THOROUGHLY appreciate you charming personality, excellent camera-work and content. Bye for now, Brian and Rowena

Good Morning Brian and Rowena, Thank you for your lovely response. Just to let you know, in a few of the travel videos, I do supply music, less now than in the first few travel videos (as I am learning what works and what does not ) but I do, still supply some music (we are also music lovers. My partner is a musician) Supplying music in the videos is often to either, 1.Set a scene or mood but more often is 2. to hide other 'offensive' or audibly upsetting background noise (this may be someone yelling in the street or a dog frantically barking or a passing vehicle's horn being tooted at me! (to grab my attention more often than not). I hope you enjoy those videos, but understand if they may not be to your liking. Others have commented that they do enjoy the music and so I am trying to accommodate most viewers by varying the content, subjects and style of filming. I am a pure amateur and have learnt everything from filming, editing, camera work and researching from 'scratch', so please, bare with me! We enjoy your comments and appreciate your honesty. We hope you continue to watch and enjoy the channel. Oh and....for Brian's information.....I am an avid murder mystery fan. My specific genre is Golden age crime classics! So we will have a book recommendation or two that will suit your needs. In fact, the channel does have a few such recommendations already up and loaded for viewing. I hope you enjoy them. Happy reading, safe travels and do keep in touch. Cheryl ABT.
