Carb has fuel metering adjustment screw back it out half round no longer need choke at idle. Engine that model was 172 cubic inch. Judging from position of clutch pedal indicates live p.t.o.

The Gingells channel is awesome. Extremely helpful 👍🏻 Glad you got her running Aaron. Now I need to go to work on my 1940 9N Ford. It has wiring issues that need attention. She sounds great

It's fun to tinker around with. I think about my grandpa a lot when I'm out there and working on his tractor. Fun old tractors!! Thanks for watching Gary!

@@aaronstractorstuff7521 , my grandpa bought a Case SC gas row crop brand new here in my little home town back in 1949. They were the very first tractors to come out with disc brakes and they were useless. The tractor was dangerous as the brakes were no good and you sat straddle of a huge transmission hump with the steering wheel in your lap. If you ever needed to bail from the tractor in an emergency, it probably wasn’t going to happen. It was dangerous to pull heavy loads with as the brakes were not capable of holding the load back, much less stopping it. Due to not enough storage space, I sold the tractor to a friend back in 2019. I hated to let it go but I never used it and it did go to a new home. I also sold my 1953 John Deere 50 for much the same reasons. The Deere had power steering and excellent brakes but was going to do nothing more than occupy precious space in my shed. It too went to a good home. Both are within 5 minutes of me here and I can go see them any time that I want. The rest of my fleet will spend the rest of my days with me. I still have my 1940 9N Ford with the factory Dearborn buzz saw, my 2 1958 John Deere 520 tractors, my very rare 1970 John Deere 2520 diesel, and of course, my Kubota L2501. All of my tractors are loader tractors except for the Ford. That used to have a Paulson loader on it be we sold that as the Ford doesn’t have live power and we no longer had any use for it. I sure enjoyed this video Aaron. Keep ‘em comin’

@@tractortalkwithgary1271 my dad talks about how unsafe tractors were back then too. He has lots of stories from working on the farm when he was growing up. I'll have more videos with that tractor in the future. 🙂

That power steering pump that you have leaking back in the seventies you could get one off of a 1-ton or bigger Ford truck had the same pump for power steering if you could find one in the junkyard

I got my father's '55 Ferguson running year before last. I warned the tractor if it gave me any troubles I'd convert it from 6v-pos to 12v-neg ground and I ended up converting it. The 12v spins the starter much more intensely and the tractor snaps right to life now where under 6v it was always sluggish and you had to do your 'will it start up or will I need to get the charger' prayer. I picked up an AC WD last winter, still factory 6v-pos ground but I'm anticipating converting that to 12v-neg this summer. Advantage with 12v-neg is you can buy inexpensive LED light assemblies that give much more illumination than the tractor ever had. Well, this tractor never had the front lights that I ever saw, wiped off working along tree-lines I'm sure. I mounted my LEDs back just ahead of the sides of the dashboard so they light both ahead of the tractor and the engine plus are much more protected.

Cool!! I'd always have a plan b because I never knew for sure if the tractor would start. 🤣 It's all torn apart again to fix gas and power steering leaks. Lol. Waiting on parts now but hopefully have it back together pretty soon. 🤞
