I was super concerned as well. Even at first after install I was still concerned as I am very picky about how my home is presented. It's only been a short time and everything already appears normal to me 😊. If you do a good job pulling everything tight, minding your measurements everything will come out great. I will be making an update video soon about how I figured out in the app to set a sunrise /sunset nightlight setting. Basically when the sun goes down, a few of the lights turn on, providing a very nice accent lighting, then automatically turns off on sunrise. So far I am very happy with my purchase and my wife absolutely loves them so a very big plus.

You have the Perfect House for these lights.. It Looks AMAZING! I just finished my Install Yesterday on a Two Story, Center Hall Colonial and it looks great but they Don't Look as good on a Two Story Vs Rancher... I ran into something I would like to share with everyone to keep them from having a Heart Attack.. The First night I only installed One Set of lights that got me to the Bottom of of a 28' Peak., The next day I installed the next String that did 85% of the peak.. So I decided to Turn on the lights to see how they looked and the second String DID NOT LIGHT! I checked the connector and it was OK, but while playing with it the First light of the second String would blink Occasionally... So I disconnected the second light string and Connected another one with the same results.. I was devastated thinking I had to redo the 28' Peak again.. The fix was just unplugging the power pack and plugging back in... I had to do this every time I installed a new string... Hope this helps some one.

With the light Puck centered it basically made everything else symmetrical on both sides of the peak down the fascia board. This is exactly how I wanted it. It's easy to just start at one end and just have the light Puck land where it lands. This makes for a super easy installation. For some, I'm sure this is fine. For me, that would have drove me bonkers. Doing it the way I did definitely adds to the install complexity, but nothing that an average guy with a tape measure wouldn't be able to accomplish.

I have had mine since July and still haven't opened them. I am dreading the work that will go into setting these up. I don't think the adhesive is going to hold up at all in the Texas heat next summer. Maybe I missed it in the video since I have it kind of quiet at work lol, but when you connect 2 sets together, do you need to plug in each set to power or will plugging one in power up both sets? Hope that makes sense.
@T_B_C_L
9 ай бұрын
I don't blame you dreading the install, although not super easy, it's also not that bad. Try doing what I did and don't get in a hurry to finish. I split the job up into 3 days and everything was done after work a couple of hours each day. Now some might say that's way to long to do the job, and I would agree for some the could get this done in probably 2hrs. Unfortunately I'm pretty picky and want things a certain way causing a more complicated install, requiring a lot of measuring. I could have easily just started at one end and just placed everything wherever they landed. Now as far as the power source, you only need to power from the very beginning and all the other light strands and extensions just plug into each other. Easy peasy. As far as the adhesive, it is pretty strong. Let's just say I made a mistake and had to peel one Puck off and it took the paint with it. Lucky I still have paint left over from when I had my house painted so I was able to remedy that. Now would I trust the adhesive, not really. It might be fine but I feel much better that I used those wire anchors for my install. I just place one after every Puck, we'll almost every Puck. I may have to go back and add a few if the adhesive fails. Where I live in California it gets super hot 🔥 in the summer. Upwards of 110° so I'm kinda of in the same boat as you in Texas. I say wait until you have so cooler dry weather and start the install. I really love how they came out and the wife absolutely loves them! Good luck and if you have any questions I will help in any way I can.

You got it exactly right. The 150ft kit comes with 2 extension and the 100ft comes with only one extension. The extensions are 12ft long and unfortunately Govee does not sell them separately for some reason. You could if needed make your own extension but just make sure you use at least 18awg and don't go more than 15ft. With my setup I did steal a 3rd extension from my 100ft kit but it was OK because I only used 7 segments so the footage was still within specs. If you push the footage to far, the voltage drop may be to much and cause problems. Hope this helps 😊

What is the brand of clips that you used to hold the wires?

amzn.to/45ZvwTV they are the ones in here. They are made for Coaxial or cat 6 but they worked fine. I already had a bunch of these so I just used them.

What happens if I am 10 ft too short to cover the front and side of my house with the Govee 150ft RGBIC kit, and I use the 16ft extention from Amazon to get the full coverage and I cut the extra 6 ft off? Would this be okay or has anyone tried this? Thanks

Honestly you should probably be fine. Only way to know is to hook it all up the way you need it before installing to test

@T_B_C_L Do you know what happens if it doesn't work? Do the lights not turn on or does it make all the lights dim..

@@paulmaestas8709 it could not turn on, flicker or dimming. I will say this though, I have 7 segments and 3 extensions in my setup which makes approx 150ft. I added another full segment at the end thinking I might want it to go around the corner but in the end I decided not to use it. When I connected it everything appeared to work just fine. That would have put my setup at 166ft. The 150ft kit comes with 9 segments and 2 extensions. If you add it up it's over 170ft. With what you are describing you will be well under that.

@T_B_C_L I did use both extentions for the eves and also spliced in one more 4 foot extention. Where I had to cut a few lights out is where I added the additional 4 ft extention. I usedb18 gauge wires with water proof butts. I then put water proof sleeves over them.
