Since this video was released, you've added a new option in the Gate category. I believe it is Attenuation (sorry, not at my home computer right now). Could you explain how that should be configured and if it impacts any other settings in the Gate category like Threshold?

Thank you for showing that slower release can really make that difference because I was having a lot of random audio artifacts in OBS that wouldn't go away no matter how I changed my OBS audio filters. All the other KZitem tutorials I have seen have too quick of a release time which really messed with my OBS in particular (I don't know why but other people seem to be less affected by this). Once I slowed down my release time by quite a bit, the issues seemed to have gone away a LOT. Will be looking to purchase a GoXLR Mini in the near future. Just wondering if using the GoXLR app would help processing for OBS end seems a lot of my audio artifacting may or may not be stemming from the way OBS encodes?

I'm using a rode podmic with a GoXLR and I get an occasional "knocking" sound (I literally thought someone tapped on my house door once) and I always have this vibration sound that sounds like im speaking through a aluminum pie pan or some sort of waxed paper. The vibration is kind of buzzing/creaking but sound metallic; if that makes sense. Ive messed with the settings for hours and cant get this noise to clear up. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Need help, I dont know if its normal. My Go XLR mini is new. I received yesterday. My Faders are inverted. If I select chat option on system or app, the fader that works with is Music and if I choose music, the fader that works is chat. I discovered this doing test because at the begining I thought my device wasn´t work. Is any configuration or factory malfunction? Hope you can help me.

GoXLR and GoXLR Mini both have built in compressors and gates. While there is some subjectivity in preference over different equipment, overall GoXLR & GoXLR Mini provide the same or very similar functionality to a dbx and most who have one have removed it from their signal chain.

bring the mic close to your mouth, and lower mic volume almost to 0 ( i keep my blue yeti to lowest possible ). Vibrations from the desk can be transferred as sound ( you can research test it yourself ). I have no idea what this mic is, but make sure the mic is listening only in front where your mouth is, and keyboard and mouse are behind it.

@@HeliconGaming Hrm, that's exactly the question I was looking for an answer to, and I'm somewhat disappointed that's the case. I had been hoping we were able to at least use the compressor on other channels so that I could level out my games and try to fix the fact that Discord doesn't have audio normalization (as manually adjusting friends levels only goes so far). I don't suppose there's a chance we'll be seeing a GoXLR 2 that can do such, or an option in the app to have software compression applied somehow?
@HeliconGaming
4 жыл бұрын
@@pretzel_tfg The processors used for GoXLR and GoXLR Mini are the largest that were available at the time without the price for either jumping significantly. With time, costs go down, but with new DSPs there's a lot we want to do so we wont commit to anything. However, we were able to sneak a static compressor on the "chat" channel to help even out voices in Discord like you said.

@@HeliconGaming Oh that's amazing! I'm certainly interested in getting my hands on one of these in a few months (bills come first sadly), so Having a tiny little compressor on there is great! @@pretzel_tfg It's not a toggle, we just enable it and let it go. It's relatively light, but should even everyone out nicely after you've adjusted their audio levels in Discord to get "close."
