A wonderful flat out race, just straights and fast bends, as Monza was until 1971. F1 needs at least one such race today.

The greatest drive ever in a GP in the history of the sport from the greatest driver ever - by far - JIM CLARK - He was and is "THE BEST of the BEST" - No doubt. He lost in the pits a whole lap (!), go out again, lap him back again in the lead (!), just to come again in trouble shortly to the end by problems with the fuel transport....

For me it’s the greatest drive in F1 history but not Grand Prix history. That goes to Nuvolari at the 1935 German Grand Prix (think Fangio in ‘57 to mythic proportions)

John Surtees was my hero growing up (still is). I remember this race very well. John wasn’t the fastest car that day but his racecraft won the day. He suckered Jack Brabham into taking the inside line at Parabolica knowing that the cement dust that had been put down on an oil spill would make it tough for Jack to get around the curve cleanly. It worked and Surtees just managed to out drag him to the finish line. What a race, R.I.P. John Surtees!

The really outstanding car has to be the Brabham . Jack & Ron Tauranac built a simple light but very nimble car although slightly underpowered was able to race the fastest of the rest & win. Repco didn’t have the cash to keep developing the engine effectively but the Brabhams were an outstanding car in 66 & 67. Just looked at the start what a mess.

That thing where one car goes by another car on the race track.....what's that called and is it legal? I never see it in today's races. They were crazy back then; pulling stunts like this.

The accepted story nowadays is that Clark was robbed that day, but, earlier, Hill was miles ahead when his engine failed.

Couldn't agree more. It was sad when Chris Amon died there was not 1 mention during any of the subsequent GP's on Speedvision. it really torqued me off. Sadly he never won a GP; always seemed to breakdown while leading; had better luck in endurance racing.

Only after Clark had lost well over a lap with a puncture, would have been interesting to see if Clark could have caught Hill... Fan of Hill as well, actually most of these guys, all drove brilliantly. Amazing that Brabham got to retire as he was around a long time, Hill also

@@snoopythedog3266Oh yes, agreed, my only point is that although Clark was at one stage a full lap behind, he didn't make a full lap up... Anything's possible I accept, but if Graham's car had continued without problems I reckon that Jimmy could never have caught him - Graham was too good, it was too much even for the great Clark.

At least there are images... this was not professionally filmed, by 1967 the super 8 cameras were black and white with image only... no sound. You should be thankfull
