did you run into issues with numa nodes and setting up cpu cores for the vm? i was looking at building a new rig similar to this to do 3+ "PCs" in one case. seems the only way to get all the devices passed through, i'll need a dual cpu board.

Didn't have any issues with NUMA specifically, but you will need to make sure the CPU you're using supports VT-d and has enough PCI express lanes for all your devices (that's 8 lanes per card for NVIDIA GPUs). If you have a dual CPU motherboard, I think that some PCIe slots won't be active unless both CPUs are present. Otherwise one CPU should work perfectly fine (given VT-d and lanes)

@@benpape498 I’m planning on dual e5 v2 xeons, haven’t decided which yet, with 64gb to start with. What cpu did you use? Scores showing it’s comparable to a 3770 means it’ll handle the games I usually play.

I acquired 2 Tesla k20x and a Tesla m40, can you recommend a server I can get for around 100$ US that can run all 3 cards for a home gaming server?

Yo nice cards! Unfortunately I think you'll need to spend more than $100 to get what you're after. If you're looking for a rack server, dell R720's are a good machine with lots of customization options but they start around $500. Plus you will need to upgrade to the 1200W PSUs to run your Telsa cards.
