I would switch out the rods for 2 bore snakes, also add a water filter straw

No need for bolt cutters with a 12ga and slugs. Don't underestimate the versatility of a 12ga!

ditch the cleaning kit. you need more 12 gauge ammo. just put a couple 25 round boxes in the bag

I thought the same thing. A shotgun will last a long time without being cleaned and most people will not be in hours long firefights. The point is to survive by running from harm not go on the offensive.

Personally I’d focus on just the handgun only. Walking out of the house with any long gun puts you on anyone’s radar. A handgun is easier to conceal and you can carry more ammunition than a rifle within either your person or inside the go bag. But I’m more of a bug in type.

Hi tech customs shotgun chest rig. Great rig if I must say. 42 rnds on the ready in stock configuration. My bugout rig definitely has some weight to it. Everything but the kitchen sink. But that’s what the gym and training is for.

1 shell on average is how many pellets? Multiply that by 50. Try finding out what a typical loadout is in the service. A shotgun in both urban and rural environments can be a really great force multiplier. And your manual of arms for pistol work is very sound. Great video.

Pellets to take down one person. I would much prefer a rifle

Ever thought of getting a Ruger PCC or Keltec Sub2000 that can take down or folded so that you can have a rifle? You can then share your Glock mags, use the same cleaning brushes for the pistol and then you have the shotgun as well for hunting, defense etc

I like the shotgun option by the way , way more versatile than an AR or AK , but the ammo weight is definitely a concern

Great video! I would ditch the gun cleaning stuff. Maybe just keep the lube. The reality is your probably not going to service your firearm in an emergency. You actually don’t need to clean them much at all.

Richard Browne That ‘s one reason(not related to this post)would not consider an AR-15,in my opinion to much maintenance may be needed let alone the possibility of(if you don’t have)any spare parts.

Shotguns and 10/22s are highly stained with gun powder etc, after about 10 shells it’s dirty as heck! I would suggest buying a bores head cleaning kit

Gregory Adkins a quality, properly lubed, ar15 will run thousands and thousands before needing cleaned. That’s a myth.

Good video!!! In my opinion a go bag should be small to negate the possibility of being to heavy.

AR-7 plus a 40s&w pistol would be my pick. A AR-15 would be better than an AR-7 but lots less ammo. The AR-7 is a great varmint gun that will work on 2 legged varmints as well. The AR-15 would not be much good on White Tail or larger game

Rather that shotgun with 50 rounds than a ar15 the shot gun hands down because my side arms will be 2 22magnums and I will easily carry a thousand rounds a 22 mag round for hunting shelf defence is good enough
