Thought I'd start the new year off with something different, and let you all hear the old 7.3L Powerstroke climb a few of these smaller Pennsylvania hills on a cold January day. It was around 25°F in this video (nothing too extreme, but the coldest temps we've seen so far this winter), and thanks to the 6637 air filter and KC300X turbo, the cold air certainly made the old Powerstroke sing. My trip to New Jersey involves a few hill climbs before reaching flat land, so it makes the 7.3 engine work a little bit (and on the colder days, helps get it up to temp faster). Even with the PHP Hydra tuner, I typically only run the truck on the "lazy" tune which is around 200 HP, so it's a bit of a dog, but it doesn't seem to mind the hills that much. I usually crank it up to a hotter tune (80 or 120 HP) when towing, but I try to baby it as much as I can. I'd like to do more 7.3 driving videos in the future, but will definitely need to figure out a better camera angle (and a cleaner lens)!
