I count myself as very fortunate to have been at The Troubadour that historic night, to see Grace come alive on that stage and command the audience, and to shoot video of much of the nearly one hour show. Unfortunately, most of the sound was less than optimal, and much of it was just plain horrible - the speakers overpowering the camera's built in mic. Personally, I love seeing the video, but I suspect many people are primarily interested in the audio quality. For a year I have debated the value of posting the videos, now having decided to give it a try, starting with the best quality and working towards the worst. "A Better Life" is an exception, with mostly decent audio - the others are not this good. If Anyone has good quality audio of any of the songs that night (the complete song, with or without video) and would like to share it, send me a DM on Twitter or Facebook (no links in the comments, please). If it is possible to marry your audio with my video, I will post it with full credit for your audio. Otherwise, I'm not sure if all of the other Troubadour videos will get posted.

Thank you so much for posting this Fredee! I have a technical question to ask: where you by any chance using something other than an Apple iPhone? I personally have found the iPhone to be the only smart phone that I have tried that DOESN'T blow out the sound at concerts. Somehow the audio limiter just seems to be superior. Really would be curious to know if you are using an iPhone or another brand (for the technical geek part of me :-) Aside from that, this is really tremendous up close intimate video with really cool lighting!

@@voicetube It may be that the critical feature in recording concerts like this is the audio compression, rather than the video - I had that same problem with clipped audio. But I didn't use a phone of any kind, in fact I'm not a big fan of video (or photos for that matter) taken with phones, and (with apologies to phone lovers) consider many instances of vertical formatting to be a travesty. I used a compact digital camera that records 20 minutes of uninterrupted video, but it's mics were not up to the challenge.

This makes me bawl...all the audience is bawling and screaming too...bet it must be hard for Grace but fulfilling too. I have her 2 cds in my car and I listen to them only everywhere I go. There's a taller dark haired guy off to the left who looks transfixed. I feel breathless after her song.

Although I personally (although it's a very tough choice to make) would choose, "The Darkness Keeps Chasing me" as my favorite song of hers, THIS one… Is certainly in the top tier along with City Song, Florets, So Much More than this and a couple others I probably just can't think of right now :-)

That rarity doesn't matter so much the sound, the historical value is incredible, thanks for keeping and sharing. Better Life is a beautiful song with touching lyrics, which in Grace's interpretation is perfect, congratulations and "success always"!!!

I think Joel Singer would be game for a cooperation. He was when I asked for permission to clip Individual songs from his more comprehensive recordings. His vantage point was on the other corner of the stage, though, so might sound a bit off with your video. Here is a playlist of every recording I could find of the Troubadour concert. This might be helpful to contact potential collaborators: kzitem.info/door/PLbrRkGTzG_mqLIi4O7mqEcpjbz_4aPj0V Also, as my inquiry on your discussion page might go unnoticed: Would you open your video for collaboration with closed captions? I could provide English and German.
