A fine video. I have found that grammar translation is limited in its ability to encourage speaking and listening skills. As a passive methodology, it is floored in two of the most fundamental areas - listening and speaking.

It is really informative about grammar translation approach. Do you think ignore applying this method in beginner levels is more effective than keep applying it with beginner students? In other way, what are the demerits and merits of this way of teaching?

Thank you so much. We do have a course on lesson planning and many courses on how to teach the skills of English
Please I wish to know Is the grammar translation method same thing as the traditional language teaching method??
@TEFLship
Жыл бұрын
The traditional method is used with the methods used in the schools that rely mainly on teaching grammar in the way it was depending on the principles of teaching latin grammar. So you can say that using the grammar translation method is using the traditional classical way of teaching a language. I would like to note that nowadays we use a mix of all the methods because there is no one size fits all method. We use each as per need.
