Beautifully detailed miniatures, but I love how Wes Anderson clearly preferred said perfect miniatures to be filmed in such a way as to celebrate they are miniatures in the final cut! 🤔🏆

As always, great video! Super jealous of the fact you worked with Wes Anderson. Great job! I wish Criterion would've included this on their special edition.

Loved the look of this movie but did wonder why it looked that way. Now I know!
Where are those miniatures now? Have they been saved? Great material thank you for your wonderful work. It’s one of my favorite films!

At first, many of the model makers were allowed to keep some of their miniatures. Then the producers changed their minds and wanted them back. Some of the models were displayed in the French miniature museum in Lyon. I think Wes Anderson kept some as well. They were beautiful models.

@@piercefilm Looks like a blast! I studied architecture and the thing I miss most about school is building models (you never get to do that in the real world of the field). Absolutely CANNOT WAIT for The French Dispatch! :D

Are they still using the same process for film making?
@piercefilm
3 жыл бұрын
Which process? Miniatures? Some films and TV shows still use miniatures like, First Man, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Mandalorian, Dunkirk, The French Dispatch.

We used regular acrylic paints from any hobby store. Matte not glossy. I use my kid's paint brushes since I don't like using an airbrush.
