Hangzhou has unveiled a new large-scale park, the Grand Canal Steelwork Park. It features a 45,000 square metre open lawn and a distinctive industrial steel aesthetic.
The park covers an area of around 500,000 square metres and preserves industrial relics such as blast furnaces, silos, steam locomotives and material handling tracks, all set amidst lush greenery.
The open part of the park currently includes almost 100,000 square metres of public space.
During the recent May Day holiday, the park hosted the Storm Electronic Music Festival, which attracted thousands of electronic music fans. The music season continues until August, offering a variety of genres including electronic, rock and pop.
Address: Intersection of Banshan Road and Liantie Road.
Transport: By taxi or car, turn left from Banshan Road to Liantie Road. By subway, get off at Wujiajiaogang Station on Line 4 and walk about 800 meters.
Parking: The park has an underground car park with about 2,000 parking spaces.
