I'm from the Navajo nation. 1/2, Navajo 1/2 Laguna Pueblo... I'm 59. Raised in the pacific northwest and was born in NM (1963) very proud to see the nation's of this country still here and being traditional to show other nations that were still living. These dances and songs are centuries old.

Beautiful! You make your ancestors proud. Citizen of the Cherokee Nation here. My Grandpa used to tell us that the most important thing we can do as Nations is to educate the dominant culture about our Nations. It helps get rid of racist stereotypes, like early Hollywood portrayed our Peoples.

I am part Cherokee and just love pow wows of all Native American tribes, however, the Ogala Lakota are dear to my heart. I have visited at least two of the schools on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and worked worked with at least two organizations for the last 15 years. The last time I visited was the year prior to the pandemic, but continue to help the schools and First Families Now in Porcupine and Oyate Teca Project in Kyle.. These Lakota and their culture are beautiful and precious. The regalia that the Ogala wear is absolutely gorgeous and it is evident that it took months to be made. The Cherokee love to use bright colors in their regalia, but so do the Ogala. I wish that I could have attended this awesome event.

I am ogalala souix 1/2. It is good to see my people in traditional dress and hear their music and watch them dance. My grandma on my dad's side had some Mongolian blood. There is a Mongolian band named HaYa lead singer Daiquing Tana. Some songs sound Chinese but Lalay Natve American. Their music helps me go places and see things when I meditate.

This is such a wonderful video. Shows how much they respect their heritage and are handing these traditions down to the little ones...who are so precious. You can tell how even the youth are dancing with all their heart and pride. May we all learn by watching these beautiful people uphold their culture.

I have always been drawn to pow wows and Native American culture. - the dancing drums, singing,, flutes . It strikes a spiritual place . I believe I was indigenous in a prior lifetime. Likewise , I have also felt a deep soothing for particular Hindu chanting that I had not heard " for eons" - this also was a prior lifetime. Celebrate diversity , as this is just the costume you wear for one lifetime. We have lived many times.
