It's always a pleasure to listen to somebody having fun and making music at the same time. The true meaning of "playing [with] the piano." Bravo!!!

Stunning performance of a piece that should be heard more often. Not one of Liszt's finest paraphrases, but an effective piece way above the average in the genre. It's not hard to see why Liszt chose it for his "duel" with Thalberg. It has both moments of stupendous bravura and delicate, tender episodes. It must have been something to hear Liszt playing this, if only on the light instruments of the 1830s and 1840s.

Wow! This is actually my favourite interpretation of this piece! 😁

Liszt played this piece during his contests with his rival Sigismond Thalberg in Paris. It's certainly not one of Liszt's best operatic transcriptions. Gekic seems to enjoy performing these rarely heard virtuoso works, and his technique is certainly up to the task...so is his beautiful black velvet cape...

Kemal Gekić and Misha Dacić are the two pianists I know who love to wear black cape in the recital in recent years.😆 And they both have incredible techniques!
