This band was and is so underrated....incredibly talented musicians with no gimmicks, costumes, pyro stuff, etc. just talent and incredible energy. Mark Farner was GFR....he played 5 instruments and all at a high level, he wrote the songs and provided top notch lead vocals as well. An immense talent....at 15, 16 and 17 years old, I thought these guys were the greatest band in the world.

Then Don Brewer and Terry Knight had to FUCK IT ALL UP By tricking Mark into a bogus contract with Capital Records. Then Terry Knight Fucked them over by rigging the contract with Capital Records to where he would get all the Monetary rights( 98% ) any how. And got Mark / Don & Mel is serious IRS trouble..Karma came back as Terry Knight was murdered by his daughters BF.

Saw Van Halen when they opened for Black Sabbath. Saw them like 3 times in like 6 months. The 2 other times I saw them this act was not reproduced again and I haven't been able to locate any KZitem video's of them doing it again. Anyway when Alex was doing his drum solo and it was getting close to end David Lee Roth came out and started jamming on the drums with Alex. A few minutes later Anthony came out and he started jamming with Alex and Roth on the drums. Finally Eddie comes out and all 4 were playing, jamming away on the drum kit for a few more minutes. The rhythm that came out through the speakers was unbelievable and I'm not able to give voice to what my ears heard that night. The closest I have seen has been Sully of Godsmack where he has his on kit he jams on and Shannon Larkin plays his. I haven't seen this video before and when I saw Mark starting to pound away it reminded me of the 2 other bands that had another percussionist jamming away with the Drummer of the Band. It just gives the song a special beat. I know the Allman Brothers used 2 drummers but it was a dedicated decision by the band to utilize 2 drummers to create The Allman Brothers Band sound.
