Sorry, but that's not John Schneider, it's me. Greg Zerkle (AKA Gregory North). I stood by for John and took over the role of The Baron opposite Ms. Charisse when the show moved from the Martin Beck to the Gershwin.

I thought it was odd that he was singing so high. I didn’t recall him doing it in the original key

That's odd. Why is John Schneider sending this out to his wife and others claiming it's him on his wife Deedee Sorvino's facebook page today? Was he originally cast in this role before you took it over perhaps?

I loved Cyd in her MGM musicals, and I kick myself for not seeing the show again when she was in it. I saw John as well, and he was excellent. Thank you for posting this, so I could see a little bit of it!

Well it was no secret that Cyd Charisse couldn't act or sing.

Well it must have been a secret since I did not know that Miss Charisse could not act. Please let me in on the secret. I have seen every movie that Cyd Charisse has been in including Marilyn Monroe's final unfinished film, "Something's Got To Give." Miss Charisse and Miss Monroe made a good acting ensemble. Miss Charisse did a remarkable acting job in the film "Party Girl" and she was convincing with her Russian accent in Silk Stockings. She gave another stellar acting performance in the film "Two Weeks In Another Town." I don't think MGM would have kept her on as movie star for over 10 years if she could not act. Miss Charisse also acted in numerous TV dramas and some soaps. Miss Charisse's singing voice was dubbed in the movies but she sort of sang live as a hostess on the Hollywood Palace (she hosted five times) but I really can't offer an opinion on her singing. Come on now...if Lauren Bacall could claim to have sung in two hit Broadway shows then I am sure Miss Charisse could do just as well.
