Trooper's Report:
On October 27th, 2022, at approximately 7:00 pm, Greene County Sheriff's Department had a red Ford Mustang fail to stop for a
deputy and flee. At around 7:20 pm, Greene County Dispatch received a call of a red Ford Mustang traveling down Greene 620 Road
with no lights on by a 911 caller.
At approximately 7:27 pm, I was stationary on State Highway 34 near Greene 620 Road. I observed a red Ford Mustang traveling
Eastbound on State Highway 34 at a very high rate of speed. My front radar opposite direction confirmed 78 miles per hour in a 55
mile per hour zone. As the vehicle passed, I initiated my vehicle's emergency equipment and learned the car did not have rear running
lamps (brake lamps only). I informed Arkansas State Police - Troop C Dispatch that I was in pursuit of the suspect vehicle.
At approximately 7:29 pm, I saw the fleeing vehicle again, continuing eastbound onto State Highway 34, reaching a speed of
approximately 116 miles per hour. The fleeing vehicle then turned northbound onto State Highway 135; upon approaching the
intersection, I cleared left and right, continuing northbound onto State Highway 135.
The fleeing vehicle turned right and began traveling eastbound onto Greene 507 Road. I passed the turn and proceeded onto a gravel
portion that reconnected with Greene 507 Road. We continued eastbound on Greene 507 Road, reaching a top speed of
approximately 122 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle turned left, northbound onto Greene 514 Road.
Continuing northbound onto Greene 514 Road, the roadway turned to gravel and reached a speed of 64 miles per hour. Approaching
the intersection of Greene 516 Road, I began to close the distance between myself and the suspect vehicle. Turning right at a T
intersection, we turned eastbound onto Greene 516 Road. We continued eastbound onto Greene 516 Road for approximately .061
miles. We approached a sharp 90-degree turn and were nearing State Highway 34. To end the pursuit, I decided to attempt to PIT
(Precision Immobilization Technique) the vehicle before reaching a more heavily traveled paved road.
At approximately 7:34 pm, as the suspect vehicle was negotiating the curve, I positioned the front right of my car to the rear left of the
Ford Mustang. Impacting the rear left with the front right of my vehicle, the fleeing vehicle began rotating counterclockwise. As the
Mustang continued rotating, he became partially stuck in the ditch. I then rammed the car, effectively pinning him in the ditch.
At gunpoint, I ordered the driver to show me his hands, and after compliance, I instructed him to roll down the window. He informed
me that the window would not roll down. Not wanting to break cover or line of sight of the suspect, I advised Arkansas State Police -
Troop C that I had the suspect at gunpoint and needed an additional unit. At approximately 7:38 pm, two Greene County Deputies
arrived on the scene and removed the driver using the passenger door.
The suspect refused to identify himself, and we could not get a return utilizing a fingerprint scanner. Once at the jail, he was
recognized as a missing juvenile who escaped from a Hospital in Memphis after being shot while
attempting to steal a vehicle at gunpoint in Paragould, Arkansas.
[Suspect] had a felony warrant out of Paragould for Aggravated
Robbery and an absconding warrant out of Randolph County. After the pursuit, we learned the Ford Mustang had been stolen out of
Randolph County shortly before the pursuit.
Inside the vehicle were three airsoft pistols and a black ski mask.
Greene County Deputies transported [Suspect] to Randolph County, which agreed to hold [Suspect] until Craighead County Juvenile
Detention Center could place him in Custody. The stolen Ford Mustang was towed by Willie's towing.
