“Grandfather’s Clock” is a song written in 1876 by Henry Clay Work. It is often performed in bluegrass jams and concerts. There are words to the song which are interesting-an old man’s clock served him faithfully, keeping perfect time; but when the man died the clock stopped, never to run again. Banjo players love the song because they get to make their banjos “chime” like a clock. Played in the key of A on a Deering Clawgrass 2 with backing track generated by Band-In-A-Box.
