Mellissa Wilkes was my first ever crush, she made me want to kiss the telly! I remember ringing up a show called Open Air and speaking to Lee and Melissa , I was so nervous and I think they chuckled over my Black Country accent. Thanks for posting this up, it's got me all nostalgic.

I first remember Melissa on Tiswas (Saturday morning TV show with Chris Tarrant and Sally James for those that are too young to remember) talking about the Grand Prix... had a crush on her as a very young boy ever since then! I'm 54 now!

I never got a chance to watch every episode of Grange Hill after school due to homework. So now I've been watching it on KZitem. I'm glad they did the "Just say no campaign" as it highlighted the dangers of drugs. Sadly some people I went to school with back then are no longer with us because they either ignored the message or never watched Grange Hill to realise how dangerous and addictive heroin is.

Used to jam in a band in the 80s and Erkan was on drums for a few sessions. Bumped into Mellissa in Romford market once. She’s hardly changed. Good days. Have to say, what a lively bunch of actors those 4 are. Not ashamed of their past and there is still that closeness of the Grange Hill club.

Love, and will always love you guys. I grew up more with the Grange Hill memories consisting of Tucker Jenkins and was watching it really intensely between 1978-1982. Thank you for filling up 25 minutes of my day, everyday, during the best, most unforgettable years of my life.

I'd agree with that although quite few people say series 9 (thanks mainly to the drugs storyline). I enjoyed the Gonch/Ziggy/Ant era but for me the best Grange Hill days were from series 1-7 and, for me, I'd put series 6 as the tops.

Amazing that people can watch a kids programme as kids in 1980s, and see these people years later and recognise them I think everyone who was a kid in 1980s who watched grange hill remembers zammo He was probably the most famous kids star in 1980s, as his story line was so dark, people i would think remember it. It was back when parents were not afriad to let there kids out of the house, and people all shared common ideas what society was. North west london where it was filmed back then, all people generally had same idea what society was, and parents were not scared to let there kids out on the streets, like today in london, where so may cultures and people do not share common ideas on how society should be. Even though i would not watch grange hill from back then today, i gave it to my niece, and she could watch it today and relate to school life even today. So its timeless for kids, as kids relate to how grange hill was back in 1980s for kids, and they relate it to how kids today are at school. I remember a few story lines from grange hill, but obviously zammos was the biggest Back in 1980s as kids alot of the shows we saw in uk, had dark themes, and many of us kids just watched it, and did not understand what these themes meant, kids i think attract to dark themes in some way, and that was alot of 1980s kids shows in uk. First time i saw these people since then, and its amazing you can remember after over 3 decades who these people were as you watched them as kids. The other day i saw ziggy for first time since seeing him as on grange hill in 1980s, and amazing how these people look exactly like they did then. Tucker for me in grange hill was just before i remember, do for me, the most famous story was zammo. I missed out really on tucker in grange hill. For us a bit later, zammo was the main figure we remember. Amazing how he looks exactly like he did as a kid Lots of people morph alot into adult life, but amazing alot of these grange hill stars kept how they looked alot Fair play to them. North west london, used to be a very different place. Today parents would be scared to let there children out, but back in 1980s like i said kids could play outside, and because people all shared common ideas of what society was, kids back then were far more safer outside of the house. Today understandably parents are not so trusting of society in north west london. Blacks today in london, will go upto white girls and threaten to rape them if they do not do what they wanted. But in 1980s london, that would not of happened to young girls in london London is ruined.

Remember his cousin Jeremy from series 7? That's the character they wanted Jonah to turn into after series 6 - arrogant, unlikeable and unpopular with his classmates, culminating in him drowning in the swimming pool. The actor, Lee Sparke, and his family were not keen on this transformation so he quit. Jeremy (played by Vincent Matthews), took that role.
