I just want to admire Granger for stepping in every time Amber was fighting back tears. Everytime she had to answer and she was struggling with the amount of emotion around this topic and holding back tears ( being the most brave and amazing woman ever), he looked her in the eye and continued for her. I truely felt like watching that he was telling her "I got you babe". I love that more than anything. I see the true love there!!!

Our daughter Hannah was 34 month's old when she drowned. She unlocked our gate, used a chair, could swim and I know the immersion into cold water was what contributed to her death. We founded Hannah's Foundation in Australia and we've spoken in the USA on drowning. More discussion needs to happen on the layers. I worked on Hannah for 17 minutes, Ambulance for another 14min and then she was gone. She was in the water for less than 2 minutes because we have recorded timeliness. They are still in denial and blame the pool. They are not strong but they are avoiding the responsibility that was theirs, to keep the kid safe. They failed. That story about the lock is a confusing mess. A toddler will not open a lock. He will push a door.....so the lock was not LOCKED. Dad was practicing some dancing moves with his daughter, so he says......Who was watching the toddler ? no one. Did mom think the toddler was big enough to entertain himself ? I guess she did. You cannot take your eyes off, little kids......That is how they stay safe. They do not drown, do not get kidnapped or do not get ran over by cars.......Little kids survive if their parents are vigilant. If they are not, they are in constant danger.

Whenever, I sell a house with a pool to a family I always warn them about the stats gingerly. Kids are so fast. Pools, tubs, lakes should always be looked at with huge respect. Kids are ingenious and will find a way. I am so sad for these folks. With our pool we had a regular fence and screened in area and a 5' mesh fence (I know they are unattractive but, they really do work to keep kids out along with pool wave alarms) I always recommend these to clients. It just can happens so fast and I have heard so many of these stories. We had a friends child fall into our pool. We were all there watching. My daughter jumped in and saved her. This can happen anywhere. This can happen to anyone. Praying for healing for this amazing family.

It cannot happen anywhere, stay away from pools. It cannot happen to anyone. Young children and adults have no business in large bodies of uncontrolled waters like rivers, lakes and possibly even some beaches. Children under 15 should not be in a pool without a life vest. I adore the Smiths and feel their pain so deep as a parent that has lost a child myself! River will always be remembered by those that knew him the short time he was here he obviously left a beautiful impression.

My husband has been through alot of tragedy and lost his youngest son last year, Logan. Watching him dwindle has been so heartbreaking as there are good days and bad days. There is a little peace in Logans children's smiles that make us think how greatful we are that Logan was able to give the greatest gift of life through him having children. I personally do not feel the pain of losing a child, but i see what my husband goes through each day that a piece of his heart will always bare an empty space. To anyone out there listening, never lose hope or faith. Prayer and time and lots of love and understanding are key to helping a loved one cope with loss. When it comes to the loss of a child, no matter how old you or your child is, the hurt is still the same and the burden is very real. Always have open arms for someone to hold and keep your ears open to listen. It really does go along way, when someone is ready to talk. God Bless -A

@@ASmith-jn7kf thank you.. and thank you for asking ❤️ She would have been turning 2 in July so it's been a while but I still think about her 24/7... I have learned how to deal with the grief but her days here in the hospital haunt me constantly in my dreams and in daily life. I know I need counseling but just haven't gone yet. Hoping to one day give her a sibling but it's been too hard to go down that road so far

I'm so sorry for your loss...we too lost our 14 year old son just going shopping with his brother. A knowing friend told me: it is impossible to protect your children in all circumstances. As diligent, protective parents, things still happen out of our control. Be gentle with yourselves mom & dad. I'm so sorry for your pain.

I made a terrible comment about him just being another famous actor not watching their kids but then I watched his KZitem videos and realized that he and his wife are great people and parents. I commented what I had said and apologized for making that false judgement of him and his family and he commented back, Thank You! SO PLEASE DON'T JUDGE PEOPLE BECAUSE I ATE MY WORD'S AND DESERVED TO. Now I'm such a fan of him and his family because they are not your typical Musician/Star, they are just normal down to earth great parents who are making a real change with the good they do.

My heart aches for both of you. About 30 years ago while my husband was on the fire department he went on a call for a missing 2 year old. It was winter. They found him a few doors down in the neighbors pool, under the winter cover. The people had left the gate to their yard open. To this day it bothers him. He notices going by homes with pools and their gates are open. So please let people know that even if you don't have children you need to think of the children who live around you. Please know that I'm praying for all of you.

I lost my oldest 38 year old grandson 3 weeks ago his body was found in the river and this past Sunday September 3 my 13 year old great grandson took his own life, our family is so devistated but I know Jesus died for our sins. Losing a child is unimaginable I feel sad for your loss and I know your son is with our Savior. I feel your hurt and guilt. I bought your book and am in the process of reading it so very helpful for my grief.

Because they were his parents and decided to have a pool and thought if he knew how to swim all was well. I do understand that they thought he could swim but to me, having five kids, and a three year old, young children cannot be trusted whether they can swim or not. For me, I didn't write a nasty comment but I do feel they were to blame but they not admitting that and that's my problem. Too many people when something happens to young children that would not have happened if they were being watched, blame pill bottles, pools, battery companies and the things they child got into but never say I wasn't paying attention and because of that my child lost their life. As Christians, God does things through you and for you so this is not just a lesson to other people. You always have to look at your role and learn from that and I hope they did. Maybe God took him so that in the future they will pay more attention to other children and circumstances.

And I think they are too quick to put it in their past I know that's because they feel guilty but it's still wrong. Death is supposed to hurt and people are saying how strong they were. Why does being a Christian mean you can't grieve or else you are weak?? There is no death in the Bible where people took it well without deep mourning. Mourning is not bad or weak.
