Rest In Peace Granny. you were a GREAT Matriarch. I'm sure the emotional stress of losing so many in your pod this past year, got to you. I'm going to miss you. Onyx is going to miss you.

Ahh well said. I truly hope humanity continues to evolve including lives much more sustainably including protecting salmon populations the only food source for this pod I understand. Personally I do my humble part by only buying biodegradable products, everything which I put down the drain will biodegrade. Donate to conservation groups, buy less who needs so much stuff!

Brandt McCall. That's good! And yes, they eat Chinook Salmon. There isn't a large source of Salmon for the Southern Residents. One of the problems are Dams preventing the Orcas to reach the Salmon.

Brandt McCall As far as I know, the Southern Residents diet consists of only Chinook Salmon. They're Resident Orcas so they won't eat seals sea lions or dolphins like Transient Orcas do. One way to provide more Salmon is to breach the Dams. There are a couple of petitions going around. Attempting to breach the Dams.

Oh wow thank-you so much I will learn more about the breaching of the dams, and sign a petition. I thought they might eat other kinds of salmon I will check this out. Thank-you also for caring so much the Southern Resident Orca's are very evolved and special all life I think is special...this pod is really amazing with a wisdom humanity can learn from.

I first learnt about J2 & the Southern Residents in a book when I was little, and it said she lived to be about 104-105 years old, and I was surprised. I’ve always loved cetaceans, but Orcinus Orca are my favourite
