Great ole vid Grant - now 10 years ago! We're now up in Aberdeen, WA for good and loving the NW again. And I'm razor clamming and fishing for redtail surfperch at the Coast! Wanted to so badly live in the Depoe Bay area but with Oregon taxing my mil pension and their state income tax, WA was a much better decision. And we can still get down to the beloved Oregon Coast! Of note, I got me the Murff's Claminator with the vacuum breaker - makes the pulling almost effortless!

I wish he could have shown how to clean them with a knife better. Is there a center part to cut out? When is the season to harvest them? I think the way he cooked them looked delicious! Do they taste like oysters? Can one find them on the beaches in vancouver, canada?
@GH-oi2jf

Isabel Aasen - You have to check with the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to get current information. There is a regular season, but there also are irregular closings for conservation or because of toxins.

I think the way British do it is better. They just pour a bit of salt water in the hole, which tricks the clams into thinking the tide is up causing it to stick its head out of the hole. You then just pull the rest of it out.

What about Maryland / d.c. And if u put salt on holes they'll jump right out the sand. Saves inergy and money. ( only use a little salt)
