Very well done and thank goodness for someone who made the effort to keep our bells ringing in this dreadful situation what a day it will be when all the bells in England ring again well done 👍

That tenor sounds beautiful. 32-1-11 in Db. Hearing that on Christmas eve is real Christmas spirit. Well Done!

If you want to see me ringing two bells about the same size: kzitem.info/news/bejne/z6tjyJ-NaoCgdmk. Although they sound a little higher, it seems they are a bit heavier: about 1.3 and 1.9 metric tonnes.

As it is many of the public think this is how ringing is done, you should have grabbed the tenor Sally and let it pull you off the floor. I saw a video of your pulling up the 11th and tenor, the 11th went up wrong, does it normally do that. I notice that Maidstone tenor always goes up wrong and they have an ingenious device to flip the clapper.

maybe next time;) The 11th normally goes up right; it's just physically trying to check it upon starting whilst keeping the left hand going with the tenor; at a different swing, means there's not the force needed to check and make the bell go up right.

Was it hard ringing two heavy bells?
@DavidBraunton

I guess it's effort, but it's hard to put your full weight into each pull when you're immediately having to react to the other bell.

Will you make a video in which you do this with all of the bells? So you ring half-way up them for a minute or two separately.

Quite possibly, more likely in amongst the bells

I never tried to double hand a large tower bell but I have tried to ring 1 handed on the mini ring and my dumb bell. I won't chance double handed ringing with my conditions be honest.

The acoustics of that tower sound insane. Is that just because there is a door open or is it really that good?
@DavidBraunton

The door was open from memory, but they do sound pretty good, still issues when 12 are rung.

@@DavidBrauntonah, so because there are only 2 bells being rung it sounds OK, but when you get all 12 involved it can be difficult to distinguish the different bells?
@DavidBraunton

@@BigBobTheNewBellRinger there's a few issues, yes when just two bells are ringing there's a lot more time to hear them individually. We're looking at how loud each bell is struck in the belfry and ringing chamber, also there's an almost solid concrete floor below the bells which effects the sound in the ringing chamber.
