This was the very first succulent I ordered from mountain Crest gardens! And I absolutely love it! Being that I live in Connecticut I use grow lights for the winter and mine have experienced the most beautiful colors depending on which light I put it under. They have actually even been the most beautiful plum purple color I have ever seen. And yes they propagate very very easily. Mine are still fairly Young and I have already propagated hundreds of leaves and head chopped all of them and they just keep on giving ❤️❤️❤️

Ugh I'm a sucker for a succulent success story like this! And I'm glad someone else appreciates their more subtle winter colors. Plum perfection.

I'm so late to this video, but I want to ask. My bronze always turns green despite getting lots of sunlight and some are also constantly under grow lights. Apart from light, does temperature also matter? Is it the soil? Or the water? Any side effects from watering or fertilizing? I can't seem to get them to turn back to bronze. At best they would be paleish dark green-grey 😅

They really need so much more sun than they get growing indoors. South-facing windows sills and grow lights are a start, but you can also take them outside when there's no chance of frost. Try gradually moving them from shade to part sun to full sun over the course of about two weeks and they should color back up. Reducing watering frequency can also "stress" them (in a good way!). They respond to the stress of full sun and drought by producing more pink and orange pigments. Wishing you and your plants luck!

Outdoors in Mediterranean climates, these will sometimes slow down in especially hot, dry summers. Indoors, they will slow their growth and need little to no water through winter to prevent rot. But in cultivation, it's not a plant with a true, distinct dormancy season.

Hmm it's tough to say without seeing a photo of the plant. Does the container have a drainage hole? How much light is it getting? What kind of soil are you using and how often do you water?

Low, winter light tends to make this one go green this time of year. Also, some sills simply don't get enough light for this sun lover. If you have a south-facing window (in the northern hemisphere), that will get the most sun. Your other options are to move it outside when temperatures stay above freezing and/or use a grow light for 12-14 hours per day if the plant has to stay indoors. Good luck!

As long as it's not stretching, it should be fine! Mine gets 4-6 hours of direct sun but doesn't get very bright colors either. Maybe some are more temperamental than others!

It is. You could also use an insecticidal soap or neem oil
