My family is from there & my mom actually met him when he was running for sheriff. He stopped by my cousin’s house & left his card. Mom said our cousin said “That man will lose his life trying to clean up McNairy County” Sad story, thank you for covering it.

Great Vlog Jordan! I remember watching the Walking Tall movies in the 70’s as I began my law enforcement career. Nice tribute to a law enforcement folk hero. Once again you have inspired us to make a road trip to visit! Looking forward to your Vlog of his home/museum.

We drove down there in laye june and visited old jail in Selmer and his house museum now, grave site and his crash site. We visited where shamrock was at and white iris which is still there. Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing this! We stopped on way down and visited the Pine Ridge Club that was used in the movie, lady there was really nice. People in Adamsville and area all really nice. Ate breakfast at Graces Place, highly highly recommend it! Food was great and so were all the people.

I have lived in Shia area my whole life and my dad knew Buford well and the legend isn’t what the true story is. He actually PEW PEW his wife in an argument. He shot Louise in the back. Please do some research because he isn’t the hero.
