Gravel Foot Cinema - Emerald and Amber (practice 4/19/24)
I would sit.
Blackest moments of the night and I'd wait.
The stars, they'd begin to fade.
Making way for the Light and I'd wait.
The amber it would creep till the emerald was seen on the other bank.
And then growing pains of a colt without reigns
Unbridled, but Soothed by the emerald.
A collecter of stones, I fill up my home,
Nothing catches my eye quite like Amber.
Though my eyes read like Shakespeare or Thoreau
My palms, they read like Poe.
How many times was I about to tell it to the wind?
Momma said when you're in love you sing it like a hymn.
I have tried to buy
peace of mind that the devil sold.
The emerald in my left hand was warm
Amber in the right will leave a man cold.
I will die with the lie, whiskey it's good for the soul.
But when she came along all I could hear was song...
Loudly through windows of Emerald.
Sunrise colored rings, the songs that we'd sing,
She'd send me those pieces of Amber.
Though her eyes read like Shakespeare or Thoreau
The writing on the wall, it read like Poe.
How many times was I gonna tell it to the wind?
Momma said when you're in love you sing it like a hymn.
So my hands they wrote like Shakespeare or Thoreau
But my palms, still read like Poe.
How many times must I tell it to the wind?
When Momma said when you're in love you sing it like a hymn.
Suppose I'll just tell it to the wind.
