I have a gravel bike and live in Santa Cruz for so many years, always went out of the town to ride my bike. Can't believe I never thought about exploring those trails.. Thanks for making this video!

Thanks so much for posting. I grew up in the redwoods near Soquel Village. Only recently been getting into cycling and dream about going back up there to ride. I mentioned it elsewhere but I'd go straight to Nisene Marks and ride from Soquel to Aptos if I'd my druthers. Not exactly sure if that's strictly MTB territory or if gravel bikes do fine there. Those old roads in Soquel and Aptos are beautiful to ride as well. I have some Bay Area friends who would be excellent guides if you want to hit Marin at some point. One of them got his bikes built by Caletti and Hunter. Thanks again for so much inspiration!

@@GravelBikeCalifornia she did well. Hope you have more rides with her in the future. I did 2 weeks ago my first off road ride with my 9 year old and was a blast. He hate it when out of the sudden I sprint and hide in the woods. 😂

Have you ever tried riding a full-suspension MTB on some real trails like the Downieville downhill area? If not, it's a whole new world of fun, and much less monotonous. Another rock, root, jump, curve, stream crossing or...? around every corner. It's like comparing volleyball to baseball. One is active, the other, dull & boring *_by comparison._* - This from a guy who used to ride 15-25 miles/day on my brand-new 1972 Italvega Superlight from the age of 12-on. I've never had more fun than on the dirt, have never missed nor will ever go back to the road, potholes, dangerous drivers, another road sign, fencepost, narrow shoulder, etc...

There's great amounts everywhere. I'll tip southern just because better weather most of the year?
