Thanks man! I forgot to mention that even better way to use fill tool when mult editing is on is to enable the minus symbol next to precision or press ctrl for on inverted and click ouside of the strokes you want to fill. It fills them all at once and no need to click each one individually if you don't want to. Super fast. :)

Thanks once again Dantii. In your excellent Video "Grease Pencil Tips and Tricks" and this, you are demystifying Blender's previous drawback -that is, how to explain Blender's incredible options. I'm betting your solid, planned teaching methods will see a huge increase in Blender's uptake.

@@Dantti But how does the Lattice know which vertices of the GP stroke to modify? if we have to set the GP vertices thru vertex groups, then that is very time consuming. We need it where you can draw a new GP on each frame and Blender to automattically connect the appropriate strokes (vertices) to the correct lattice deform. (Or use meshes to deform the GP, (they have weight painting unlike lattices)

Some really great features I have been waiting for in this version. Lovely. Great video. I really dislike the new autokey thing, for the reason you mentioned: accidental keys on 3d stuff. I go back and forth all the time between gp and other objects so this is a bad change for me personally. Do you know if u can revert that particular setting?
@Dantti
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Same thing for me. It is especially confusing when you have gotten used to certain workflow since 2.80. Remembering to turn it off is a real issue for me since I also have stuff all over the 3D space. Maybe one fix would be that the autokey could be active on the GP level and when you go to object mode it would follow the setting you have set there. I liked the old style better. You can still add keyframes with I or duplicate previous frames when you make changes or so. But we'll see what happens :)

True. If I could code, I would make a addon when the auto keying is on, there is a red outline on the viewport or so that I would remember to turn it off :D Btw there is a setting under Animation about auto keyframing warning but it's already on and I haven't seen no warning. Weird :D

Awesome tips and tutorials! I have a question, is there a way to flip the "canvas" horizontally in grease pencil, to check mistakes in the drawing?
@Dantti
3 жыл бұрын
There are many ways. Easiest is mirror modifier for one object, you move the origin point further to see the other side. Then you can make a duplicate linked copy of the object and mirror it, or you can instance the whole collection and mirror it :D I'm sure there's other ways as well but these came in mind :D

You can try uncheck "use lights" at layers panel. You need to uncheck for all layers. Hope it helps :) If not. Maybe it's s bug. Sounds weird man.

@@Dantti TU man. I tried and I didn't work. BUT, you led me to find the solution.In each layer, in the fill color I checked the option "holdout" and the colors appeared. I drew on a plane that afterwards I would logically make it disappear. Are there any restrictions that this plane adds? And is the reason why was everything black?

WOW. I spent an hour reading EVERYTHING from blender documentation about this tool, watching older vids, and just generally raging that I couldn't do the simplest fucking thing (make a stroke in grease pencil). In 30 seconds you cleared it up, thanks a ton but FUCK BLENDER for disabling by default the ability to draw when you make a grease pencil object and select a brush. It's like grabbing 100 different pens and they are all dry, all the lead in your pencils was stolen by a trickster troll god or some shit, it's mind-bogglingly trollish to put that TINY button to enable the tool you are very fucking obviously trying to use. Can you tell I'm mad? Like, I love blender to death but whoever made that little button off by default needs NEVER have a hand in developing this again, they are demonstrably trolling a massive and awesome community.
