To Clara's Grandson (sorry I don't know your name) who put together all of these videos over the years to share your wonderful treasure that was your grandmother. Her stories warmed my heart and soul. I did not have a grandmother like yours but while watching these videos I feel like I could share a part of your grandmother. That makes me very happy. There's a lot of people that need to watch shows like this so they can understand that you don't have to have fancy expensive imported ingredients to make good food that tastes good. Cheap salt and plain ol' black pepper from the grocery store. They try to use all these rare ingredients like the cooking show chefs do, then they can't figure out why " it doesn't taste like what grandma used to make " I'll be the first to admit it took me a couple of years to figure out that bit of knowledge. Our grandparents didn't drive around half a day trying to find some one-off spice. They used what they could find at the place down the street where they usually shopped.

When my father passed, it was in the dead of winter, and he had a little mud room off his kitchen that was not heated… He had cooked a large kettle of soup, and carried the cast-iron pot out and set it on the paver bricks to cool before putting it in the refrigerator… Inside the refrigerator he had cooked salmon cakes. He always made seven from a canned, and one was missing that he had obviously eaten that day… When I made it to his house after being notified, I found this food… There was no way I wasn’t going to enjoy his last meal with him. He was a good cook and he loved my cooking. He was a depression era child, and has learned the ways to make delicious meals out of almost nothing. He pass that on to me and I thank God for the gift. She's a joy, thank you for sharing her with us. My Grandmother's family was kept alive during the Depression in the Dust Bowl eating eggs and drinking milk. When their cow died, most livestock did from the dust, they ate it, then their goat which they were living on the milk from died, they ate it. Then it was only eggs and whichever crops were nearly-dead and barely coming in. So vegetables and eggs were all they had at the end of that time, an abjectly miserable time for them. Most of us, no matter our troubles, won't live through the kinds of times they did. Thank you, Clara, and Clara's family.

Clara always has such simple, but delicious dishes...ones that fill you up & make you happy you stopped by to watch her make them! I've tried every one of her recipes & have her CD & her cookbook...she will always be my favorite KZitem cook...Phyllis Stokes was always a favorite of mine too...they are both in Heaven now with their hubbies, probably cooking up a storm there too!! RIP Clara & Phyllis...I still love you both just as much as I did when you were still here with us & thank you so much for all the recipes & chats & stories. You both made my life so much better & still do!!💌🙏💝💝

I do so hope people are finding these in our current crisis! I've been a fan for years and I just bought her book! Even if you watch these, and I have watched them all several times, you still need to get the book, so much more insight there into Clara! Thank you! When I am lonely and afraid, I come and spend some time with Clara and I feel stronger!

I can't stop coming back to watching Clara.. No matter how many times I've listened & watched her. It's like coming to see my gran again who raised me since birth but is no longer here. There is something about Clara who is so easy to Love & cherish, we are so fortunate to have her in our lives. I honest to God don't know who I'd turn to as Clara is part of my life now. How can you not love Clara, & I love her kitchen & absolutely everything about her. Happy New year, Take care 🍀 🍀 🍀

This my first time ever seeing this gentle soul. Its May 13th, 2023 and this lady died in 2013 over 10yrs ago with a KZitem channel that will keep her memory.KZitem is something else.Just imagine if she died in 1950's she only as a memory of her image on pictures taken in her younger years. She on KZitem and the world will know who she is that wouldn't of been possible back in her days.

My late mother in law reminds me so much of Clara..We lived upstairs and she lived dwn stairs( we still are in same house right now just my wonderful mil no longer here) but she taught me the best recipes , and gave me some of her pots, pans, cast iron ect that are best cookware to this day..Anyways she taught me 2 amazing soups that are just potatoes, onions ,ham crisco or lard and flour, Or saurkraut ham pinto beans onions crisco and flour and when i tell you best soup you ever had its understatement...She was born in 1934 passed in 2018 and really im so blessed to have known her and i cherished every moment..Most ppl think how could you live with your Mother in law but tbh I was very lucky to have her right down stairs ..Sorry thought i was commenting on the egg soup recipe.. .tfs😊😊😊❤❤👍👍..
