Completely agree with the "don't trust anyone" segment. I myself am an example where I have the Trade Mentor status when I've never even touched my only leveled crafting class' level one quest (don't worry, I don't put the crown on display). As long as they play the game long enough, anyone can achieve mentor status, even if you don't comprehend basic fundamentals of the game which is why i've always seen the status as a joke.
@AltruisticWarrior

Lol true stuff. I've seen long term players on alts with sprouts that are more helpful and knowledgeable than the crown folks, far often. That and if it's a female character, especially M'qote, 99.8% of the time it's totally a dude playing irl. Have no idea why some guys will trip over themselves and hand over all their items and time with the idea their helping a woman. Heck, can't trust the motivations of the help in that case either. They're not doing it just to be kind. Even made a great friend in the game that told me he prefers to play female characters as he gets offered a lot more help.

Man if I could add to this video: Don't emotionally invest yourself in the game or the people in it. Take care of your real life and take care of yourself. If you make good friends along the way of playing the game that's great, but if you go into the game to actually MAKE friends or meet women/men, focus on real life, chances of finding somebody worth your while are extremely low and people fall for that trap way too often.

The help thing is so relatable. One day, in one of my usual boss fights for grinding as a dps, I ended up with one of those players... I sersiously questioned my abilities at this point. There was that tank who was basically dps-ing his life and had no idea about dps positionals. As a DRG, most of the time I had to face the rear of the boss, that tank was suppoed to keep the rear open, yes?... well, his b0tt was sticking in the corners of the arena so I tried to sneek in the corners to do my job and smashed the True North button, but couldn't easily dodge rear attacks or AoE. I kindly asked the tank to move to the other side so that I can effectively attack the boss and also he protects the rest of the party... needless to say he didn't take it well and mocked me... Talking about AoE, at some point I was targeted by stacking arrows.... nobody moved, I coudn't move by fear of one-shoting sm1, and I died (yey teamwork)👍 Oh and one last thing, I checked their plate, they were mostly lv90, which is way above my lv since I'm a trialist, great! Can someone pls tell me I'm wrong somewhere (other than giving advice), cause after that battle I was hesitant to login again (and that never happened to me before).

some stuff is really weird in ff14, like the "dont give advice ever" stuff or the "minimum" conversation in dutys, like if ur in lower lvls ppl usually speak to each other and wait , if its 90 content ppl usually say no more than "hi" and "ggs" if even and cant even wait a few sec with pulling and stuff, like the moment i write down "hey" and press my tank stance one dps or heal already starts pulling shit (and im the tank), everyone has this kinda "i wanna get it done quick" mentality, if your doing something the first time good luck learning anything because ppl gonna rush it and carry you and you prolly gonna learn nothing at all, at least thats my recent expirience with stuff. like maybe let the noob tank at least try tanking the new boss once he has to learn it too.

I will admit, we have snuck me into groups for harder content I hadn't completed yet, but fortunately for people, I was one of the better players they would get and usually fairly fast on the uptake. It's pretty sad when a player who has not even cleared the content yet is doing better at it than people who have cleared it enough to have the mount.... Also, playing through all of my classes up to 90. I might not be as versed in all of the rest as I am my main of each role type or my bard by the end, but I actually prefer to try and do my best on all of them, so I pay attention to my abilities and would like to think by the time I get them to 90 I will at least know them quite well and be a team asset on any one of them. I sadly simply don't have the time in my life to utterly master every one of them, but I know them well enough I could actually help newer players with how they work. And honestly, when you have played through enough classes and paid attention, you start to realize that a lot of abilities do very similar/nearly the same things, just with different names.

I still find this fun, don't get me wrong, but when I started interacting with other people, I enjoyed a whole new side of the game. I've spent hours listening and talking to a bard or spending the whole day helping people complete savage raids. I still play mostly solo, but if someone asks me to help or if I see someone performing, I take a break from the routine and try something new. Also, BLU is fun. Highly recommended.

Advice is always taken as an attack on their playstyle. Let alone wherever you fall on the controller versus mouse and keyboard debate. There’s never a good answer which is usually why I’ll just talk about other things like lore and plot holes. Little dumb things to get people more comfortable with my opinions, then at some point maybe they heal for a second and I show them both how I personally play tank and how hard it is to play a healer when the tank refuses to use mitigations. It takes more time but it creates good players and decent friendships, if ya love the game as I do- this is the most accessible method I’ve found so far in order to keep your data center’s world full of people who enjoy the game.

I remember once while healing a dungeon with a tank who had cardboard for armor, a DPS who kept standing in bad was dying and they complained to me with something like "can you heal me sometime?" Like yeah if the tank was pressing their buttons and their HP bar wasn't a pogo-stick, sure. I politely explained how they are at the bottom of my priority list, and they seemed to understand; they also upped their game a bit when they realized I'm not gonna take their sass. So I guess the moral here is if you ARE going to give advice/suggestions to others, at least know what you are doing. At the same time, respond to people kindly and you may get their respect. #3 is a very good point and life lesson. Always forge ahead.

1. I help my Boyfriend in what I know about the game so if that is a problem Deal with it *Puts on Deal with it shades*. Its stuff I learned from Observing others as a White Mage and secondly at least the majority I play with on my Data Center Aether on Midgardsormr all they do is 0/ and say hello but are just mostly quiet. 2. I use all my abilities but don't blame me If I cannot use a spell that is greyed out in a lower dungeon, Deal with it. I am level synced I wont have access to my powerful abilities. WHM Rotation: Aero (All Enemies the tank argo'd), Regen (Tank, I always prioritize the tank first), Stone (Up to glare for attacking), Cure 2 (If its available, Cure 2 cannot be used below lvl 30), Aero (Refresh on Targets or new), Stone (Up to glare for attacking) rinse and repeat. Lucid Dreaming If low on MP. Swiftcast + Raise If anyones down, Medica 2 (Heal all if everyone got hit) Sage Rotation: Kardia (Casted on Tank) > Eukrasia > Eukrasian Dosis 2 (Cast on every enemy in sight/refresh if duration is low) > Dosis 2 (For attacking) > Eukrasian Diagnosis (For Shielding and Healing) > Kerachole (if everyone gonna take damage or to give tank more protection). Physis 2 or Pepsis, (Situational), Druochole (If someones near death). Prognosis for Dungeons where my other AOE heals are not available. I don't know what tanks you been running into but most I run into do sometimes Wall to Wall Pulls (Because I play Warframe quite a lot) the sped up mob pulls well I am used to speed. You must have terribly slow tanks, But it also not all Healers can keep up with a tank who pulls to much or can heal fast enough even with cure 2 because they bit more than they chew. I am around level level 60, 70 and 80 ranges and uhh I know my abilities because I am a fast learner, But I also don't go sucking up all my MP away for nothing by casting stuff that s not gonna be used right now. What? Why should I spam a AOE heal and drain my MP when everyones already at full HP, wasteful even with Lucid Dreaming I am no fool. My opinion Mentors? - None, yes shocker as a Sprout. Nothing I don't give a dam enough about asking mentors anything. Why? Because I am smart enough to learn myself I can handle it on my own I am a fast learner, I can get to places that Would not consider me a sprout, Players behaviors in hangout spots rubs off on me. I can hang out with the "Cool" people even as a sprout and wear high expensive fashion or even wear a dress as a Hrothgar and get lots of compliments because at least I know what players like to see. I am a introvert who observes people. Legend Players, Never saw one ever. At least not on Midgardsormr or even in places I frequent in major cities in ARR and Ishigard (No access to Stormblood & up to endwaller yet. In Post Heavensword Content). Cat Girls approaching me as a White Tiger with black stripes as a hrothgar? yea uhh nope never. I do get pats for having a blue and white dyed wedding gown dress on from 1 and just a compliment and saying thanks but other than that is where it ended. I don't or rarely interact with ANYONE in any MMO its not exclusive to FFXIV only. I like staying neutral in my MMOs. No one lies to me because I don't hang around long enough to chat up with players not to mention most players on my world are usually AFK (Chair Icon) If your healer is not raising the tank after they die, FIND. ANOTHER. HEALER. I had tanks die on me because they took a bit more damage than usual I ALWAYS, ALWAYS raise a tank FIRST! Without them up and going, We are done for. Tank takes my highest priority, DPS Second, Healers Last. DPS only takes priority if there on very low HP. Healers is situational. 3. I Rairosu Ishida will NEVER touch raids with a ten foot pole (Crystal Tower was the only known Forced Raid, NEVER AGAIN) Regular Dungeons/Story Dungeons Fine. As for the MSQ being to lengthy well it was for me but back then initially but I don't care to much anymore I go at whatever pace I wish too. I rather do crafting and gathering and leveling up my jobs in Duty Support or with players on Praetorium, Getting into Fashion with the glam dresser & the Parasols Fashion Accesories. I am still a sprout and I already got into full crafting not for making stuff not yet just leveling them up I had not used it for making stuff for real yet. The only serious one I invested in is Miner and the Firmament. Oh and the Hildibrand questlines and GOLD SAUCER STUFF! And as a PROUD Sprout. I am getting married to my Boyfriend in FFXIV. Two Male Hrothgars doing the tie that binds. My BF wears a Tux. I wear dyed blue and white dyed wedding gown Gown for him. We both got the platinum plan from the Mog Station Store.

"Read your tooltips" lol. Until 6.45, I was still under the assumption that RDM's Manafication doubled your black/white mp lmao
