Such great advice on checking the tides well ahead of time. I know we have to here in NC due to the large tide swing. Rev, it is so fun hearing the excitement in your voice when you see the dolphins. We cant wait until we get our chance. Best wishes and take care youngsters.

Good afternoon Captain Sam and Rev, another fantastic video.... I was thinking about your surprise for Rev, and I maybe thought one of your Naval contacts was going to surface a Sub ( under your vessel) and give Rev a spectacular free Hull out 😂😆😂 Safe Travels and 🙏 Scott... I am always thinking of monkey business 😆

Hi Guys! Another super episode! I want you to know when sailing in San Diego Bay, I saw plenty of subs from the San Diego Sub Base, and I was even invited to go on an underway on a fast attack nuclear sub, the USS Helena. We spent the day 600 feet below the surface and I had the best chicken dinner ever on board!. But I never once saw one of those degaussers. The cost of diesel fuel is certainly put the kibosh on things, too bad you can't sail the loop! Rick

I could not really tell, but more than likely that ship you saw was an auto hauler. Brunswick is a major port that they ship foreign autos into the port and American vehicles out. It was the MV Golden Ray that capsized onto one of its sides in the Brunswick sound. It took over two years to remove it. They brought in this huge vessel called the VB 10,000 that came inl to surround the GR, to cut up the Golden Ray into pieces, that it lifted up to be hauled away by huge ocean going barges. A local boat captain documented the progress of the removal process for two years. His KZitem channel is the Mallorcan Mullet. They finally finished up operations a few months ago. The ship was filled with Chevy Tahoes, GMC Yukons and Terrains. I trust you are having a nice summer off the boat.

Hi Michael, Yes, we did see the Golden Ray on our first loop. It had just happened about five or six months before we passed it. I did see the video of the salvage and how they used chains to cut it into pieces. What an immense job. Thanks again for following us along our journey!

On this trip we go from one anchorage to another. Dealing with the normal 8 foot tidal swing in Georgia was complicated by a full moon and a drain tide. We needed to set ourselves up for the next day's trip which would be a trip through some very challenging areas that should NOT be done at or near low tide. This is why a lot of boats bypass some of Georgia by going outside on the Atlantic Ocean,

Another enjoyable trip and interesting to see all the things on the coast. Never thought about a submarine needing demagnetized or anyone recalibrating a compass. Interesting watching the different tidal flows along the way. Good trip and informative. Way to go teach.

Hello Sam & Bev, is the diesel cost affecting your current and future plans? My wife and I were about purchase a 51’ yacht with 474 gallon diesel tanks but after planning for over a year we decided to hold on after we saw the price of diesel since the beginning of this year and it continues to increase. We just became empty nesters and now our plans have halted by the economy. Many blessings Al & Martha.

Hi Al, Great to have you onboard. We were fortunate to complete both loops before the increase in energy prices and inflation. We did purchase our last two fill ups at 5.00 a gallon. Many people are putting a lot of plans on hold. We are here where we planned to dock until the end of September and have about 350 gallons onboard. And we may decide to sell the boat. If not, we will pull her and put it on the hard for the winter. Then take a break and see what our next chapter holds!
