Hey Josh don't know if you know this or not but from the first lag you lost that lag, if both of you are down and the opponents ball hits the end rail before you hit your ball it would be loss of lag and break.

Hey Josh. You may know this but if you don't I can guarantee they will bring your game to another level. Here are a couple of practice routines you can try. 1 Take all 15 balls and throw them out on the table make sure no balls are touching each other at least a 2 ball gap between them also make sure no balls are touching a rail. You want a 3/4 to a diamond width away from the rail. To Start with. Take ball in hand you can shoot any ball any order. Tip don't play the 8 or 9 last. Just think of them as any other ball. Your goal is to runout the balls without the cue ball hitting the rail also you really don't want run into a ball and make that ball hit a rail and bounce off. You can hit another ball though. oh and try not to bank. that means you got out of postion. The better you get move the balls closer to the rail. Try to get 3/4 ball width off the rail. still, you can't touch the rail with the cue ball. if you do start over. Trust me this hard. This you will up your game dramatically. 2 Take all 15 balls. now place 3 of them at the diamonds on the short rail. 3 of them on the 2 long rails before the side pocket. now place the rest where the diamonds intersect at short rail and long rail up to the third diamond. Take ball in hand you can shoot any ball any order. your goal is run out the balls without running into another ball. if you do start over. if you can do this better than 50 percent of the time. your skill will go up. I hope I explained that well enough. also if you would like to know how to adjust your medium stroke for any table let know.

Lol my fargo is a bit higher than Josh’s but I guarantee he’s done those drills before. One doesn’t just magically become a 9. I’ve only watched a few min but I’d say his safeties are leaking that should prob be the focus to go next level, his stroke is solid and cb is not bad. 528s cant typically move well, scratching on that 2 ball could cost him 30 points if be plays a monster.

I don't know if this occurred to you , but that shot at 18:30 when you wanted to move the 9 to avoid the short rack ? I would have played the 9 into the corner off the 8 ball combo, since you were planning to foul anyway . The nine gets spotted so it's not sitting there for the easy combo. Just another sneaky arrow for your quiver . LOL Keep posting these enjoyable matches , my man .

With all due respect you shot a little above your 528 fargo. Not all 9s are the same as some go as far as 680 or even 715. 528 is typically an 8 as 9s start at about 540-550 so you’re doing something right.

@29:55 you comment about a bad rack. It was racked well, you hit tons of draw bringing your 1 into side pocket. If you watch the breaks, look at the behavior of the 9. In this rack, it doesn’t move- well racked. In most others, the 9 rolls towards bottom rail- gapped balls behind 9.

@@Amateur_Pool you misunderstand. Nothing I comment towards you is intended as criticism, only observations about how you're playing. I've said many times you are obviously a very good player, but you too comment about your choices. Regrettably I live 10+ hours from you and I don't travel your way any longer since my eldest graduated University there. I would enjoy a game with you and probably lose. But none of that takes away from the accuracy of my observations which are only intended respectfully and as help. If you've been offended by any of them, my apologies.
@Amateur_Pool
Жыл бұрын
@cj-ef1rp it's the accuracy of them that i call into question sometimes. For instance, They way you keep hounding about my bridge length. Shortening the bridge length is a short term cure to account for flaws in your stroke. If you watch any pro matches, most of them favor a long bridge also. It's better to address the flaws in your stroke (which i work on, consistently) rather than adjust your stroke to mask your flaws. I listen to all feedback, and take it into consideration. But, it's not all going to be implemented, for sure. Thanks again, as always.. i appreciate you
@cj-ef1rp
Жыл бұрын
@@Amateur_Pool No doubt most Pros play a bridge length longer than 8". But you missed my point. When you can, and during practice, intentionally shorten your bridge. There are 2 reasons I mentioned it: 1. You PUNCH the ball often and don't stroke it. A shorter bridge promotes stroking through the ball because the point of maximum acceleration of the cue is BEYOND the cue ball. When we punch, we are decelerating before impact. This causes mishits and skids. And 2., it will help you with the accuracy of the cue ball strike. A longer bridge length is guaranteed to create "wander" in the strike point on the cueball. Because we are Amatuers, justifying why we do something (longer bridges as an example only) because the pros do it is cynical. We are NOT pros. We don't get to practice to their regimen. So, if you are struggling (which most of comments came on older videos where you admitted you were in a slump) I analyzed when and how you missed and saw several tendencies. That was the nexus of my comments. Always meant as helpful, never as criticism. Fret not, I'm a fan of your channel and you. But I encourage you to use the video you shoot to really dive into the analysis of a given mistake and see if you identify a habit that you need to work on. The content is great, very enjoyable. But don't overlook the real value of video of YOU for YOUR benefit. Most don't have it at their disposal.
