This one is unusually early Oliver, the other varieties are running at about normal schedule so if expect to see fruit set in August 🤞

Yes I was quite surprised although to be fair the Triumph did flower way earlier than the other named varieties. It might be some time before I see if there is any swelling on the other plants 😁. Any possibility of fruit set on any of yours that had a few flowers ?

@@lyonheart84 the first ones that opened don’t appear to have swelled yet. In fact, I can’t even find one of them, so that one has probably dropped off already. Have some more open now on a triumph and a few on some other varieties look like they might open soon 🤞. I had to pollinate a triumph flower the other day with its own pollen as none of the others were open, not sure if it will be compatible. Did you cross these ones?

@PeterEntwistle I suspect Triumph is partially self fertile, certainly when it’s first few flowers opened there were none open on my unnamed seedling, they started to open a few days later. Plenty of time for them to keep flowering and set fruit, I often get them set into August and start swelling late August / early September

Looking good. When do you usually harvest them there?

It’s far too early to know Anne unless your flowers have totally dropped off. Usually they don’t start to show swelling until late July and August, this is extremely early. Most of my others are only starting to flower now and will probably flower into mid or even late August. The cold weather has slowed down their flowering 😁
