There were two school girls, Dills and Hinds. The Hinds girl has her family name on the local college, WCU. They were competitors in school, a k-12 right in the middle of the college campus. You could start there in the first grade and finish with a Master's degree. The two girls were competitors and life long friends. They graduated together, part of a class of 27. Dills as in Dillsboro, name on the town, and Hinds, name on the Student Center. The two were special for such a tiny school.

They are my parents let me do it but they were like "that's enough spending". The cheapest cab rides for starters is Tennessee Valley Railroad which is only $20.

So how often do they run 1702 selected weekends throughout the year? And how many miles of track they got?

Isn’t there a turntable to rotate 1702 to point her in the right direction? Like towards Dillsboro? Maybe the turntable wasn’t working.

No they only have one in Bryson City, they two 1702 to Dillsboro then it leads the train back to Bryson City. For the George Run 1702 leads the train out of Bryson City then it is towed back at the end.

baldwinloco12 I knew they had a turntable in Bryson City. That was my point. They’d rotate her to face forward towards Dillsboro then the diesels would pull her back. It happened when 1702 first returned to steam.

Tony told me that they would eventually build a turntable at Dillsboro and one near the refinery at Topton.
