Thanks for the sample play of the expansion. I'm definitely adding this to my collection in 2023. Everything you mentioned makes sense and yes I love how simple everything is with thorough explanation and reference for iconography. Many of your statements are so true about the game. Look forward to playing in 2023. Will need to change configuration on my table to make it fit vertical along with everything else Lol. Have a great day!

No way to reach this game if it is vertical. I have to play it horizontally! Glad the video was on key for you.

Thanks John. I have very much enjoyed the base game and your review has convinced me to buy the expansion. I must say I have become a bit wary of expansions of late as my experience of Maracaibo , Paladins and Grand Austria Hotel is that the expansions have made me less likely to get the game to the table. Some of this is simply a feeling that the benefit of the additional stuff has been outweighed by the extra set up and complexity. So I think my previous "must have the expansion" has been replaced by a more discriminating approach. Videos like yours are very helpful in the decision making process. Cheers.

You a quite welcome! I can relate to that in regards to some expansions overdoing it a bit. In this case, I don’t believe you have anything to worry about. Take care!

Can you comment on why you didn't enjoy the Grand Austria Hotel expansion? The base game is on its way to me, and I was thinking of getting the expansion as well.

I assume this comment was to the original poster of the comment before. I don’t own Grand Austria Hotel unfortunately. I missed the chance to get it with the solo mode and so that’s it for me.

@@booch7767 The Base game is excellent and very streamlined. There is plenty of replayability with it. The expansion adds a variety of modules. Some are better than others.

Great video as always! Do you think base 2E and Argentina (from what you’ve seen) are too similar to have both in a collection ? Also, what are your thoughts on the replayability of Great Western Trail ? Do you think it will hold up in terms of fresh and different experiences every game ?

I cannot really comment on the original versus the Argentina version. I have not played the Argentina version and have just heard commentary on it. In regards to the replayability of GTW 2E I think there is plenty there, especially with the rails to the north expansion to replay it and have a fresh experience. Given the 13 different buildings and the multitude of different destinations to deliver to as well as the bonus cards, I think there are many plays before you would get exhausted with it.
