STORYLINE:
Thousands of Greek and Portuguese fans took over the streets of Lisbon on Sunday, eagerly awaiting the final game of the Euro Cup 2004.
Just two hours prior to the match there were no reports of the violence that often plagues major football tournaments.
There was a lot of street singing and dancing instead.
Supporters from both nations have lots of reasons to celebrate.
Greece has reached the 2004 final in only their second European Championship appearance.
For Portugal, it is the first time they have reached the final of a major tournament after semi-final exits from the 1966 World Cup, and the 1984 and 2000 European Championships.
As hosts, the Portuguese team have a whole nation on their side.
As they left the training camp south of the capital and headed for stadium by bus, they were saluted by planes, helicopters and boats as it crossed the Tagus River.
