No other show ever referred to other shows as much as Green Acres did. They existed in the same universe as Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies, Hogan's Heroes, and even Mr Ed got a look-in one episode.

Good thing that wasn't Crittendon giving that advice! He'd probably end up at Colditz.

So Green Acres exists in the same tv reality as Hogan's Heroes. That means that Green Acres (along with The Beverly Hillbillys) also share tv reality with Batman since Colonel Klink popped out of a window on that show. It's too bad Batman and Robin never visited Hooterville, that would have been trippy. Imagine Batman trying to make sense of Hank Kimball.

Funny short clip, thanks for posting! I would go to Eddie Albert's house in the late 1970's, to service the pool. I never once saw him, but he had a big greenhouse in his back yard, and grew corn in his front yard, so I think that he realy was a farmer/horticulturist at heart!!

That's the SAME plane footage they used in the "Hogan's Heroes" episode: " Easy come, Easy go", when Klink bailed out of the P-51. The number on the tail is "108." It's obviously stock footage that Hollywood has on hand for TV shows to use. For a price, of course. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lomiz5dvfpiSpoI

That was the point of Uncle Henry told Charlie 1 (Douglas) to ask for Hogan at Stalag 13 since they could get him out.

@@backyardshenanagins1720 think the point being made is assuming he's asking the Germans to send him there. If so, Klink's record would be ruined which wouldn't be good for Hogan.
