If your skint but been stuck in the house and just want to get out for a few pitns £1.71 in Wetherspoons for this ain't bad. Same for Worthingtons Creamflow for £2.03 - would you review that?

Drank tons of Ruddle's County back in my Army days (80s). It was dead common in pubs around Salisbury Plain where I was stationed bitd. Can't recall ever drinking this though 🤔

It’s the mainstay cask bitter in Wetherspoons pubs

One of my favourites, very weak but tastes like toffee shandy, nice when in the mood for something lighter.

Back in the 1970s Ruddle's Bitter was one of the first mass marketed "real ales". At that time it was streets ahead of the competition if you could call Watney's Red Barrel competition! Thanks for a great review Paul and COYS!!!!

Went to Wetherspoons last week with 20 quid and just got this. Had about 10 pints and it wasn’t bad at all. With the price of beer these days Wetherspoons are doing a really good deal with this ale. Like you said Paul it isn’t amazing but it isn’t terrible either.

£1.49 a pint in my local Wetherspoons Like you never been tempted Other Ales £2.20 less 50p with Camra token The way beer is going up in price it's good to have somewhere on occasion to get a cheap pint.

A far cry from the beers of Shepherd Neame, (Bishop’s Finger in general which is my all time fav) but not too bad either. Goes well with pub food and dirt cheap. I come back to it from time to time. Definitely miles ahead of cheap lager (Fosters and the similar piss)

40 years ago-ish, I recall Sainsbury's bashing out a pack of 6 or 8 stubbies (330ml) of this beer branded as a premium local brewed ale (green label. not red). At the time I thought this was class. Then again it was up against the Watney's party 7. So what has changed? My taste, the brewer? who knows - Dr.Who & his tardis presumably would be a reliable taste tester......

judging a taste (i.e. of beer) is like judging a music or painting - whatever one says, the other one can say: "I like it!" or "I hate it!" and that would be all one can judge a quality but not really the taste - as someone said: "De gustibus non est disputandum" ;-)

It's one of those beers where you can just tell there's a reason it's less than £2 a pint in pretty much any Spoons. You've got a really good channel mate. Really good reviews, I've found some absolute gems since I subscribed. Cheers 🍻
