Tackling our neglected greenhouse with nothing but elbow grease and creativity. That and a sense of humor (and multiple showers) got me through this week's surprise departure from my normal crafting content.
🌟Mischiefs Managed: rotting foundation board, uneven ground, lack of shelving, disappointing level of aesthetic.
🌟 For anyone wondering where all the upcycled and repurposed materials came from:
all the shelves were either already in the greenhouse, or laying in the garage
the shell was dug up under our pine tree (same with all the bricks)
the large concrete flooring was partially already there, but supplemented with leftover (of the same exact size!) from a sidewalk find
the strainer, wicker baskets, and drawer slides were pulled kicking and screaming out of dark corners of our basement
the broken pot, some other pots, the twinkle lights, and the seat cushions came from several walks around our neighborhood (garbage or "Free" piles)
the small yellow rose bush, the lanterns, and the HUGE power bank were all pulled out of various garbage piles and brought back to life (either literally or metaphorically)
the legs for the little round table and the plywood sheet that would become the top were found in a recycling center
many of the plants were purchased, either by me or my roommates, but many were also either pulled from "abandoned" parts of the yard, or dug up in a local forest #gardenmakeover #diygreenhouse #gardening
