What I did was i hung the metal hanging baskets with weight in them and hung them up to keep greenhouse in place until I decide where I want it. Works great!!! I put heavy empty pots for now, just got mine month ago

Thank you for the comprehensive review. We are going to get a greenhouse with polycarbonate and understand the panel issues. Could you explain what HVAC tape is (is it the foil tape?) and how the installation is done. It seems to have worked well for you. Thanks (MG from PA)

My Aunt has a similar green house from Harbor Freight. After 2 seasons something (?) happened to it and Harbor Freight stood by it and gave her a new one. Hey Hey for the sun🌞

Overall I really like it. The benches inside are very functional. I enjoyed what worked and what could be improved. Definitely a keeper.

Might be good to build a platform for your greenhouse then you can level and bolt to that. It would also give you extra height to drain water.

Janie … get an automatic opener! They are not expensive on Amazon and they are LIFE CHANGING! Just get one … seriously.

Why not “ shim” the lower level of greenhouse up instead of bolting at level if patio? You need drainage for greenhouse floor!

I had the same greenhouse. Unfortunately it did not even last one full year. I purchased all the extra tie downs and auto openers. It is not suited for much wind. 20 mile per hour winds literally blew it away. Not only did most of the panels blow out, some even tore. However the thin aluminum twisted and a couple of the super thin inside braces tore. I was left with a pile of junk. The aluminum went to recycling and I had to dispose of the plastic. It was an unfortunate and expensive lesson. I think those greenhouses may be better suited for the small suburban garden where there are a lot of houses, buildings and fences, providing a lot of protection from wind. Though we followed all instructions and recommendations even purchasing the extra suggested method of securing this greenhouse we only got almost 7 months out of it.

We have something similar, my solution to the hot summers and only using it as a storage shed is to build a simple pergola over top with grape vines (summer shade and fruit & winter sun)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just purchased a prefab greenhouse 6' x 8', that looks similar to your Palram Hybrid, [different name brand]. I have been waiting to get several items together and the rain to stop so that I can build it up. But I want to especially thank you for that suggestion of using HVac water proofing tape around the panels to prevent water from getting in and to prevent mold and mildew. Do you recall how many rolls you used? Just a question so that I have some idea of how many to purchase while at Lowes or The Home Depot. Thanks again for the great video.

The sun goes further south in the cold months and closer to direct overhead in the summer. The greenhouse should be on the south side but covered so that the direct overhead light in the summer doesn’t directly shine on the glass

Hi. I am looking into this model of greenhouse for my mother, the HVAC tape tip is gold! In regards to hot weather - where do you live? We are planning to set one up in Scandinavia, so it only gets hot occasionally. Not sure if I need to get a greenhouse with some form of insulation as we do have a lot of cool and even cold summers. Thanks for the video!

Hi Janey, Thank you for sharing. Will your foxglove bloom this spring if they are that size or will it be next spring? Additionally, I would like to purchase the tray you have for soil/potting. Where is it from?

I have a greenhouse similar to yours. I found the tape but I see no video of him on how he did it. Did you happen to record a video of you guys doing it? I put tape around my panels as well but water is still getting in and I live in the south. I gotta fix this before the heat comes!

I too have a palram snap and grow 8x8 I built 1 yr ago. I am 69 and built 95% of it alone. It was hairy to do that but I made it. I love it. Mine leaks because the ground has settled but it is not bad. I just stick a bucket under the leak. I’d buy another one in a minute if I needed to. Great video.

Nice update and nice earrings! My avocado tree in my greenhouse just dropped it's leaves.. Trying to figure out why? I'm in SF Bay Area, so not like it got a hard frost, especially in the green house where temp dosnt drop below 60 degrees with heater.. Any thoughts on avocado trees and loss of leaves? PS Go Niners!!! ; ) Thank you!!!! I love your Set Up there!!! : ) Happy New Year 2023!!!!

The zones really don't seem to line up with real world over here in our region in NZ. We never get hot, lots of wind and rain on the coast its just the wind chill that seems to get it much lower than -3°c. Most days are overcast with cloud

The earrings are so pretty. I have a green house and live in a hot area as well. I don’t use mine after about early May. It is under deciduous tree and still gets to hot. I think your greenhouse is lovely. I would suggest that you run a fan in it it helps so much with reducing humidity diseases and pests. It was a game changer for me when I got mine I hope you have a great day.
